THE ROUSH/RAUSCH FAMILY

**George "Casper" RAUSCH was born about 1721 in Germany.  He was married to Anna Maria UNKNOWN.  They came to America from Germany, arriving in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on the British ship "Robert and Alice" from Rotterdam, Holland.  He took the English oath of allegiance on September 24, 1742.  He served in the Revolutionary War in Captain Michael Weaver's Company.  Casper died about April 27, 1811 in Freeburg, Snyder County, Pennsylvania.  He and his wife were buried in Zion (Morr's) Lutheran Cemetery, Freeburg, Snyder County, Pennsylvania.  Casper and Anna Maria had the following children:

1. Juliana RAUSCH was born about 1740.  She was married to Godfrey EICHELBRENNER (son of Daniel EICHELBRENNER) in the autumn of 1760 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
2. John Martin RAUSCH was born on September 24, 1743 in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania.  Nothing more known.
3. Elizabeth RAUSCH was born on January 29, 1745 in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania.  She was married to Jacob SCHERERTZ in 1763 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
4. Anna Magdalene RAUSCH was born on January 4, 1747 in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania.  Nothing more known.
5. Sophia RAUSCH was born on May 21, 1748 in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania.  Nothing more known.
6. **John "Jacob" ROUSH (see below).
7. John "George" RAUSCH was born on August 2, 1753 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.  He was married first to Christina MORR (daughter of Andrew MORR) in 1776 in Freeburg, Snyder County, Pennsylvania.  Christina MORR was born on August 4, 1757.  George served in 1780 in the Revolutionary War in Capt Motz and Capt Weaver's Co of Northumberland Co Militia and Lieut Jacob Spee's Rangers.  Christina died on June 7, 1793.  She was buried in Zion (Morr's) Lutheran Cemetery, Freeburg, Snyder County, Pennsylvania.  George and Christina had the following children - Margaret RAUSCH, George RAUSCH, Andrew RAUSCH Sr, John "Philip" RAUSCH, John Martin RAUSCH, and Catherine RAUSCH.  George was married second to Barbara POTTER about 1773.  George died in 1822 and was buried in Zion (Morr's) Lutheran Cemetery, Freeburg, Snyder County, Pennsylvania.  George and Barbara had the following children - Jacob ROUSH, David ROUSH, Simon ROUSH, Julia Ann ROUSH, Elizabeth ROUSH, Rebecca ROUSH, and Michael ROUSH.
8. Johannes  (Little John) RAUSCH was born on July 27, 1757 in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania.  Nothing more is known about him.
9. Anna "Barbara" RAUSCH was born on December 17, 1759 in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania.  She was married to Andrew DILLMAN Jr on August 1, 1777 in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.  Andrew DILLMAN Jr was born on October 21, 1751 in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.  He died in 1823.  Barbara died on November 17, 1842.  Barbara and Andrew had the following children - Eva DILLMAN, George DILLMAN, John DILLMAN, Susan DILLMAN, Barbara DILLMAN, Frederick DILLMAN, Andrew DILLMAN III, Julia DILLMAN, Catherine DILLMAN, Elizabeth DILLMAN, Samuel DILLMAN.

**John "Jacob" ROUSH was born on July 22, 1751 in Lebanon, Dauphin-Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.  He was married to Barbara Mary Elizabeth WITTENMYER (daughter of Andreas WITTENMYER Sr and Suzanne SHROVE) about 1774 in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.  Barbara Mary Elizabeth WITTENMYER was born about 1752 in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.  Jacob served in the Revolutionary War in the 3rd Pennsylvania Regiment, Continental Line, January 1, 1777 to 1781, the companies of Captain Michael Motz and Captain Charles Meyer of the Northumberland County Militia.  Jacob was a member of the building committee of the old Zion Lutheran Church, erected north of Freeburg in 1780.  He was assessed in Penn Township for the first time in 1778, and in 1787 was taxed with 300 acres of land and personal property.  He was granted a warrant in 1796 for an additional 60 acres.  He contributed to the fund for the erection of the First Lutheran Church of Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania in 1801.  In 1806 he was one of the road supervisors of Penn Township.  Jacob died on 3 December 1819 in Freeburg, Snyder County, Pennsylvania.  Both Jacob and Barbara were buried in St Peters Cemetery, Freeburg, Snyder County, Pennsylvania.  Jacob and Barbara had the following children:

1. John ROUSH was born about 1774.  He died about 1866 and was buried in Liverpool, Perry County, Pennsylvania.  John ROUSH had the following children - Michael ROUSH, Henry ROUSH, Daniel Sylvester ROUSH, Sally ROUSH, Catherine ROUSH, and Elizabeth ROUSH.

3. Jacob ROUSH was born on November 10, 1779.  He died on November 5, 1885.  He was buried in Lutheran Reformed Cemetery, Kratzerville, Snyder County, Pennsylvania.
4. Eva Barbara ROUSH was born in 1783.  Nothing more known except date of birth.
5. Catherine Elizabeth ROUSH was born in 1784. She was married to Tobias BICKEL in 1802. She was buried in Centre County, Pennsylvania.  Had six sons.
6. Mary Elizabeth ROUSH was born in 1786.  Nothing more known except date of birth.
7. Frederick ROUSH was born on April 13, 1788 in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.  He was married to Dorothy Nagle.  (daughter of John NAGLE).   Dorothy NAGLE was born on November 30, 1798.  Frederick died in 1848.  He was buried in Reformed Cemetery, Madisonburg, Centre County, Pennsylvania.  Dorothy died on April 18,1889.  Frederick and Dorothy had the following children - Catherine ROUSH, Mary ROUSH, Susannah ROUSH, Elizabeth ROUSH, Louisa ROUSH, Benjamin ROUSH, Daniel ROUSH, and Henry ROUSH.
8. Michael ROUSH was born on August 17, 1794 in Pennsylvania.  He was married to Eve BREON.  Eve BREON (daughter of John George BREON and Elizabeth HEINLEY) was born on November 7, 1801.  They traveled by covered wagon to Stephenson County, Illinois in 1849.  He died on December 20, 1855.  She died on June 15, 1880 in Lena, Stephenson County, Illinois.  Both were buried in Lena, Stephenson County, Illinois.    Michael and Eve had the following children - Amelia ROUSH, Cornelius ROUSH, Joseph ROUSH, Lovina ROUSH, Rosetta ROUSH, Mary Elizabeth ROUSH, George S ROUSH, and Samuel Benjamin ROUSH.
9. Andrew ROUSH was born on August 8, 1798.  He was married to Susan ADAMS.  Susan ADAMS was born on March 28, 1804.  He died on 8 September 1876.  She died on October 14, 1896.  She was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Snyder County, Pennsylvania.  Andrew and Susan had the following children - Jane ROUSH, Susan ROUSH., Mary Ann ROUSH, William ROUSH, Malinda ROUSH, Henry C ROUSH, Daniel ROUSH, and Maria ROUSH.
10. David J ROUSH was born on January 11, 1804 in Freeburg, Snyder County, Pennsylvania.  He was married to Anna SWARTZ.  Anna SWARTZ was born on April 11, 1802.  He died about 1885.  She died on November 1864.  David and Anna had the following children - Henry ROUSH, Amelia ROUSH, Sarah ROUSH, Simon (Symon) ROUSH, Susanna ROUSH, John ROUSH, Jacob ROUSH, and Catherine ROUSH.

**George ROUSH was born on April 4, 1776 in Union (Snyder) County, Pennsylvania.  He was married to Mary MICK/MOCK/MOOGH about 1798 in Mifflinburg, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.  Mary was born on December 18, 1779 in Beavertown, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.  George was a farmer. He loved hunting. George and Mary can be found on the Mifflinburg Township, Union County, Pennsylvania census in 1830.  He died in February 1835 in Union County, Pennsylvania. Mary died on July 17, 1848 in McAllisterville, Juniata County, Pennsylvania.  Both were buried in Beavertown, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania.  George and Mary had the following children:

1. Elizabeth ROUSH married Frederick STREYLEY.  They had the following children - Mary Ann STREYLEY, Matilda STREYLEY, Elizabeth  (Eliza) STREYLEY, Lucian STREYLEY, Jerome STREYLEY, Catherine STREYLEY, Jane STREYLEY, Hannah STREYLEY.
2. Jane ROUSH married Lincoln DAVIS.  Jane and Lincoln had the following children - William DAVIS, Joseph DAVIS, and Sarah Jane DAVIS.
3. Julian ROUSH.  Nothing more known.
4. Mary Barbara ROUSH was born on February 10, 1800 in Union County, Pennsylvania.  She was married to Abraham KELLER in 1819.  Abraham died about 1863.  Barbara died April 24, 1892 in Allen County, Ohio, of old age and dropsy.  Barbara and Abraham had the following children - Mary KELLER, Isaac KELLER, Sarah KELLER, Elizabeth KELLER, Katherine (Kate) KELLER, Malinda KELLER, Benjamin KELLER, George KELLER, and Henry KELLER.
5. Catherine ROUSH was born on April 5, 1801.  She married John A HAINES.  She died on November 12, 1875.  She was buried in St Peters Cemetery, Freeburg, Snyder County, Pennsylvania. Nothing further known.

Jacob M ROUSH was born on January 28, 1816 in Union County, Pennsylvania.  He was married first to Hannah KANARR about 1832.  She died before 1850.  Jacob and Hannah had the following children - Henry ROUSH, Mary Martha ROUSH, Eliza ROUSH, Joseph ROUSH, Anna ROUSH, and Amelia ROUSH.  He was married second to Elizabeth HOLTZAPPLE between 1842 and 1850.  Jacob and Elizabeth had the following children - Jane ROUSH, Emma ROUSH, George Washington ROUSH, Susan ROUSH, Ella ROUSH, Janette (Nettie) ROUSH, Charles ROUSH, William ROUSH, and Ida ROUSH.  Jacob died on April 10, 1894 in Allen County, Ohio.
8. Joseph ROUSH was born on December 24, 1817 in Union County, Pennsylvania.  He was married to Jane KANAVEL on March 14, 1839.  She was born about 1819 in Pennsylvania.  They moved to Allen County, Ohio.  Joseph and Jane had the following children - Cornelius (Neal) ROUSH, Solomon ROUSH, Hiram H ROUSH, John K ROUSH, Edward ROUSH, and Isaac ROUSH.
9. Anna ROUSH was born on March 19, 1824 in Juniata County, Pennsylvania.  She was married to Jacob Dritt DOSCH on October 17, 1841.  They moved to Wisconsin in 1850.  Anna died on June 26, 1906 in Richland Center, Richland County, Wisconsin.  Anna and Jacob had the following children - John Christopher DOSCH, Edmund DOSCH, Mary Emma DOSCH, Lewis Evans DOSCH, William Henry DOSCH, George Ellwood DOSCH, Diana Dritt DOSCH, Hail DOSCH, Endora DOSCH, James Culvin DOSCH, and Frederick DOSCH.

**Henry ROUSH was born on March 25, 1803 in Miffinburg, Union County, Pennsylvania.  During a few years of his early manhood he followed the trade of blacksmith, but the remainder of his life was spent in agricultural pursuits.  He was married first to Elizabeth MOREHEAD about 1824.  Elizabeth MOREHEAD was born in Centre County, Pennsylvania.  She died in 1843 in Miffintown, Juniata County, Pennsylvania.  Henry and Elizabeth had the following children:

1. George ROUSH was born on February 5, 1825 in Miffinburg, Union County, Pennsylvania.  He was married to Elizabeth PONTIAS in 1846.  He died in Michigan.  George and Elizabeth had the following children - Mary Margaret ROUSH, David ROUSH, Wilson ROUSH, Albert ROUSH, Martin ROUSH, Alonzo ROUSH, Anna ROUSH, and Blanch ROUSH.
2. John ROUSH was born on June 29, 1827 in Miffinburg, Union County, Pennsylvania.  He was married to Mary Jane JENKINS on August 28, 1856 in Allen County, Ohio.  Mary Jane JENKINS was born on March 14, 1832.  She died on April 9, 1899.  John died of arteriosclerosis on February 5, 1918 in Lima, Allen County, Ohio.  Both were buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima, Allen County, Ohio.  Section 8, lot 43.  John and Mary Jane had the following children - William ROUSH, Essie ROUSH, Bertha ROUSH, and David ROUSH.
3. Joseph Allen ROUSH was born on March 6, 1829 in Miffinburg, Union County, Pennsylvania.  He was married to Mary J ANDERSON.  They moved to Georgia.  They had at least one child - Charles Alexander ROUSH.
4. William Henry ROUSH Sr was born on February 26, 1831 in Miffinburg, Union County, Pennsylvania.  He was married to Sarah Anna OSMUN.  Sarah Anna OSMUN was born on March 6, 1833.  William died in June 1899 in Kansas.  William and Sarah had the following children - Andrew Jackson ROUSH, William Henry ROUSH Jr, Joseph Franklin ROUSH, Mary Elizabeth ROUSH, Luella Jane ROUSH, Milton Montgomery ROUSH, Ulysses Grant ROUSH, Edmund Davis ROUSH, Emma Elnora ROUSH, and Ida May ROUSH.
5. Catherine ROUSH was born on July 27, 1834 in Miffinburg, Union County, Pennsylvania.  She was married to Willis COPELAND Jr.  Willis COPELAND Jr was born on June 24, 1828.  He died on August 2, 1895.  She died on 4 January 1915.  Both were buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima, Allen County, Ohio.  Catherine and Willis had the following children - Henry Lutz COPELAND, Alonzo H COPELAND, Mary E COPELAND, Honora (Nora) COPELAND, Isaiah COPELAND, Catherine COPELAND, Clara Anna COPELAND, and Florella Blanche COPELAND.
6. Henry Harris ROUSH was born on July 16, 1836 in Miffinburg, Union County, Pennsylvania.  He was married to Mary Elizabeth LOOKER on May 9, 1858 in Hardin County, Ohio.  They moved to Iowa in 1859.  He served during the Civil War.  He became a preacher and followed that until his death on April 3, 1926 in Siam, Taylor County, Iowa.  Henry and Elizabeth had ten children:  Edith ROUSH, Charles Dodd ROUSH, Lawrence Franklin ROUSH, Albert Birch ROUSH, William Ernest ROUSH, Harvey Monroe ROUSH, Rachael Catherine ROUSH, Carrie Alice ROUSH, and two others unknown.
7. Franklin ROUSH was born on October 1, 1838 in Miffinburg, Union County, Pennsylvania.  He served in the Civil War in the 11th Reg, Company D, Ohio Volunteer Infantry.  He was a farmer and wood stirrup manufacturer.  He was married to Mahala HARVEY (daughter of George N HARVEY and Nancy SLY) on March 6, 1862 in Lima, Allen County, Ohio by Hiram Protsman, JP.  Mahala HARVEY was born on August 24, 1842 in Allen County, Ohio.  She died of paralysis on December 16, 1909 in Bath Township, Allen County, Ohio. Franklin died of uranicus poisoning and chronic nephritis on March 17, 1917 in Allen County, Ohio.  Both were buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima, Allen County, Ohio.  Franklin and Mahala had the following children - Willis L ROUSH, Bertha Ellen ROUSH, John F ROUSH, Araminta ROUSH, William H ROUSH, Mary D ROUSH, Alanson George ROUSH, Oliver S (Ollie) ROUSH, James Delbert ROUSH, Iona Pearl ROUSH, and Grace May ROUSH.
8. Philip ROUSH was born on December 26, 1840 in Miffintown, Juniata County, Pennsylvania.  He was married to Nancy A MASON about 1866.  Nancy A MASON was born on September 13, 1843 in Allen County, Ohio.  The family appeared on the census in 1870, 1880, 1900 and 1910 in Bath Township, Allen County, Ohio.  Nancy died 1 May 1918.  Philip died of suffocation due to crushed left chest in accident on November 20, 1919, in Allen County, Ohio.  Both were buried in Bluelick Cemetery, Allen County, Ohio.  The four children born to them all died in infancy.
9. Jacob ROUSH was born on March 18, 1842 in Miffintown, Juniata County, Pennsylvania.  He died August 25, 1919 in Montgomery County, Ohio.

Henry was married second to Susannah WINEGARDNER (daughter of Mathias WINEGARDNER and Catherine DURST) in 1844 in Juniata County, Pennsylvania.  Susannah WINEGARDNER was born on November 8, 1814 in Mifflin County, Pennsylvania.  Henry Roush came to Allen County in 1852, and located in Bath Township on the farm where he spent his life.  He was at one time captain of a company of State militia.  Susannah died on October 7, 1887 in Allen County, Ohio.  She was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima, Allen County, Ohio.  Henry and Susannah had the following children:

1. Theodore ROUSH was born on January 18, 1847 in Miffinburg, Union County, Pennsylvania.  He served in the Civil War.  He was married to Martha DILTZ about 1868.  Martha DILTZ was born on March 16, 1843 in Ohio.  She died on August 6, 1893 .  Theodore died of cerebral hemmorhage on March 8, 1926 in Lima, Allen County, Ohio.  Both were buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima, Allen County, Ohio.  Section 8, lot 43.  Theodore and Martha had the following children - Cora ROUSH and Cloyd ROUSH.
2. Jane ROUSH was born on December 4, 1848 in Miffinburg, Union County, Pennsylvania.  She was married to Samuel BOOSE (son of Rudolph BOOSE and ?? WALKER) about 1867.  He was born November 27, 1842 in Somerset County, Pennsylvania.  Jane died on April 10, 1901 in Allen County, Ohio.  Samuel died of acute dilitative heart on November 27, 1926 in Allen County, Ohio.  Both were buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima, Allen County, Ohio.  Jane and Samuel had the following children - Civila L BOOSE, Emma J BOOSE, Henry R BOOSE, Sarah R (Sadie) BOOSE, Catherine E (Katie) BOOSE, Margaret B (Maggie) BOOSE, Martha A BOOSE, Cora M BOOSE, Gracie I BOOSE, Dessie BOOSE, and Edna BOOSE.

4. Ephraim ROUSH was born on March 6, 1852 in Lima, Allen County, Ohio.  He was married to Lutitia NUNEMAKER (daughter of Andrew NUNEMAKER and Rachael PHILLIPS) on October 19, 1880 in Ashland County, Ohio.  Lutitia NUNEMAKER was born on September 1, 1856 in Virginia.  She died on May 22, 1941 in Bath Township, Allen County, Ohio.  He died of broncho-pneumonia on March 15, 1946 in Bath Township, Allen County, Ohio.  Both were buried in Bluelick Cemetery, Allen County, Ohio.  Ephraim and Lutitia had the following children - Pearl Mae ROUSH and Ruth Irene ROUSH.

Henry died on 18 May 1881 in Daulphin, Allen County, Ohio.  He was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima, Allen County, Ohio.
