Here is a brief beginning to our family history.

My family's line of descent is marked with a **.

Nicholas PORTZ was born about 1823 in Prussia, Germany.  He was married to Margaret BRAUN (daughter of Joseph BRAUN and Barbara HOFFMAN) about 1844/45.  Margaret BRAUN was born on 11 June 1825 in Germany.  The family appeared on the census in

  • 1860 in Jackson Township, Seneca County, Ohio (Household 1422)
