THE LOTZ/LUTZ FAMILY

John Peter LUTZ was born on 10 December 1810 in Narsaw, Germany.   He was married to Mary Cristena STOUBER on 29 November 1842 in Germany.  Mary Cristena STOUBER was born on 2 February 1822 in Nordthover, Ampt Weiseiders, Nassau, Germany.  They emigrated on 11 June 1844 with one son on the ship "William and James" from Rotterdam arriving in New York on 12 Sep 1844.  They settled in Richland County, Ohio, where they stayed for about twenty years before moving to the farm in Logan Township, Auglaize County, Ohio, where they lived out their lives.

Mary died on 8 March 1905 in Logan Township, Auglaize County, Ohio, USA.  John died on 18 February 1907 in Logan Township, Auglaize County, Ohio, USA.  They were buried in Fort Amanda Cemetery, Auglaize County, Ohio, USA.

John Peter LUTZ and Mary Cristena STOUBER had the following children:

1. John LOTZ/LUTZ was born about 1844 in Germany and came with his parents on the ship.  He appeared with the family in the 1850 and 1860 census.  Nothing more is known about him.
2. Jacob LOTZ/LUTZ was born about 1846 in Ohio, USA.  He was married to Lucretia COON in 1869.   Jacob and Lucretia’s children included Emma Jean LUTZ and William B LUTZ.  Lucretia died and Jacob married Anna J NEELEY after 1880.  Jacob and Anna's children included Frank Albert LUTZ and Clarence Eugene LUTZ.  Jacob died 7 November 1893 in Lima, Allen County, Ohio, USA.  Anna married again to Alfred CRAMER and died in 1934.
3. Catherine Elizabeth LOTZ/LUTZ was born on 27 August 1847 in Mansfield, Richland County, Ohio, USA.  She was married to John FRY (son of Peter FRY and Emeline GOLDEN) on 30 May 1869 in Auglaize County, Ohio, USA.  John FRY was born on 21 March 1846 in Logan County, Ohio, USA.  Catherine died on 29 September 1908 in Hope, Midland County, Michigan, USA.  John died on 5 July 1909 in Hope, Midland County, Michigan, USA.  Both were buried in Hope Cemetery, Hope, Midland County, Michigan, USA.  The children of Katherine and John were Rosiltha C FRY, William Amos FRY, Mary Josephine FRY, Noah Ark FRY, Alvin Pearson FRY, Chester FRY (died young), and Chester FRY.

5. Peter Edward LOTZ/LUTZ was born on 11 April 1852 in Ohio, USA.  He was married to Johanna Maria KLAUER (daughter of William KLAUER and ? FOX) on 13 January 1881 in Allen County, Ohio, USA by J H Stephens(?), Minister.  Johanna Maria KLAUER was born on 25 June 1859 in Allen County, Ohio, USA.  The family appeared on the census in Auglaize County, Ohio, USA in 1900 (page 143B) and 1910 (page 161B – the first time the name is spelled with an O).  Peter died on 15 October 1930 in Kempton, Allen County, Ohio, USA.  Johanna died on 17 May 1933 in Allen County, Ohio, USA.  Both were buried in St Matthews Cemetery, Cridersville, Auglaize County, Ohio, USA.  Peter and Johanna’s children include Curtis Augustus LOTZ, George G LOTZ, Bertha Caroline (Callie) LOTZ, Laura Leota LOTZ, Viola Alice LOTZ, Simon "Edward" LOTZ, Silvia May LOTZ, and Mona Matilda LOTZ.

**Sarah Ann LOTZ/LUTZ  was born on 25 June 1851 in Richland County, Ohio, USA.  She was confirmed on 6 April 1892 in Union Christian Church, Amanda Township, Allen County, Ohio, USA.  She was married to John ZUBER (son of John "Bartholomew" ZUBER and Christina UNKNOWN) on 19 March 1873 in Allen County, Ohio, USA.  John ZUBER was born on 2 April 1850 in Baden, Germany.  See more about this family by going to the Zuber Family home page.
