Wilhelm Friedrich August Zimmermann

Wilhelm Friedrich August Zimmermann was born

21 February 1850 in Klockow Brandenburg Prussia.

He come to the USA in 1874 on board the"Thuringa", leaving

from Hamburg, Germany on 15 April 1874, arriving in

Harve, France 18 April 1874, finally in New York 30 April 1874.

On board with him was his father and mother, two sisters and

one brother. They settled in Sumner Township, Kankakee County,

Illinios. In 1876 he left Sumner Township and settled in New Ulm, Minnesota.

Later that year joined a group that was going north. They finally

settle in Todd County. On 26 October 1877 he married Wilhelmiena

S. M. Bluhm. Wilhelmiena was the daughter of J Wilhem Bluhm and

Sophia (Alm) Bluhm. Wilhelmina was born 12 May 1860 in

Pommerine, Germany. Wilhelm and William Bluhm were responsible

for the change of the petition to name the town Bertha. Wilhelm was

also one of the petitioners to organize School Dist #51 and took active

interest in all public matters affecting his community and his efforts

develop one of the county's better farms. Wilhelm was also on the Board

of Directors when the first creamery was established in Bertha in 1900.

Wilhelm died 07 February 1923 in Bertha, Minnesota. Wilhelmiena died 15

May 1945 in Parkers Prairie, Minnesota. The following children were

born to Wilhelm and Wilhelmiena.

Herman William Zimmermann was born 29 July 1878 in Bertha Township, Minnesota

died 1958 in Suak Center, Sterns County, Minnesota. He married Sophia Marie Wieland

born 09 February 1880 Renville, MN on 21 May 1901 in the South Bertha

Methodist Church.

Emma Zimmermann was born 28 January 1880 in Bertha Township, Minnesota. died

07 December 1945 in Bertha Minnesota. Emma married Rudolph Schaal born 14 March 1870 in

Sumner Township, Kankakee County, Illinios. He died 30 December 1932 in Bertha. Rudoph

was working for Carl Zimmermann in Sumner Township when Emma meet him.They

were married 18 December 1902 in the South Bertha Methodist Church.

Annie Zimmermann was born 12 April 1882 in Bertha Township , died 27 May 1930 in Chicago, Illinios.

She married August Bluhm 29 January 1902 in South Bertha Methodist Church.

Laura Sophie Zimmermann was born 17 July 1884 in Bertha Township, died 05 December 1961

Bertha , Minnesota. She married William August Carl Siebert born 03 June 1877 in Kleptow, Brandenburg,

died 24 June 1956 in Bertha, Mn. They were married 18 May 1905 in South Bertha Methodist Church.

Helena Bertha Zimmermann was born 22 April 1887 in Bertha Township, died 19 July 1959 and is buried in Zion

Cemetery Bertha Township.

Albert Herman Zimmermann was born 06 July 1889 in Bertha Township, died 01 February 1971 in Owosso,

Michigan He married Anna Evans born 20 April 1892 in Grant Park, Illinios, died 07 June 1934 in Chesaning,

Michigan They were married 21 August 1912 in Kankakee, Illinios. He married Ruth Richardson Benoy born 16

September 1893, died 01 January 1944 on 03 July 1935 in Owosso, Michigan. He married Kathleen Schneider,

born 09 March 1900 in London, Ontario Canada on  June 1946.

William Fredrick Carl Zimmermann was born 28 June 1891 Bertha Township, died 10 January 1966 in Orgeon

City, Oregon. He married Catherine Sullivan 07 November 1890 in Crystal, North Dakota, died 14 February 1989

in Portland, Oregon. they were marrried 25 May 1914 in Clontraff, Minnesota.

Fredricka Zimmermann was born 06 March 1896 in Bertha Township, died 24 November 1983 in Parkers Prairie,

Minnesota She married Karl Howard Gerger born 31 October 1889 in LaBalna, Austria, died 23 April 1965 in

Parkers Prairie, Minnnesota. They were married 08 June 1920 in Bertha Church Of God.

August Rudoph Zimmermann was born 17 March 1905 in Bertha Township, died 14 December 1988 in Gresham,

Oregon. He married Erma Katrina Hasstedt born 28 February 1912 in Ocheydon, Iowa, died 11 September 1995

in Clackamas, Oregon. They were married 17 November 1938 in Vancouver, Washington.

Minnie Viola Zimmermann was born 31 October 1907 in Bertha Township, died 16 September 1992 Loveland,

Colorado. She married Beverly Masslich born 29 April 1903 in Chicago, Illinios, died 07 June 1950 in Denver,

Colorado. They were married 02 April 1932 in Evanston, Illinios.
