Welcome
A little bit of this and a little bit of that is what this site is all about. Whether you are searching for a surname, a photograph, the county I live in, or here just for the fun of it, you will find each subject ties in to my genealogy in one form or another.
If this site looks vaguely familiar to you, chances are you have seen it under a deferent Internet address. Sadly, the whole site was hacked by some person without a heart. It took quite a number of requests before I set out to put in online, again, with a different provider. I send a heartfelt thank you to Rootsweb, Betsy in particular, for so kindly supplying the space and their understanding of the situation.
I welcome all and hope that you will take the time to sign my guest book. Please visit again as it will take some time to recreate the entire we site. All questions are welcome. Thank you so much for stopping by. Karen

WHERE DO WE LIVE?
Atop a little mountain in the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountains in California. We are surrounded by pine, cedar and oak trees, and enjoy the company of deer, endure the pranks of raccoons, tolerate the squawking of blue jays and keep out of the way of the bears.
We are in Nevada County. Close by are two popular gold mining towns of the gold rush period, Grass Valley and Nevada City. Beauty, charm, historic, fun and friendly describes the area.

Immortality lies not in the things you leave behind, but in the people your life has touched. Anonymous
My Family includes the families of Berg, Haney, Schultz and Zimmerman. My husband, Justin, is working on the Butler, Cottar, Derington and Walton lines. Currently, you will find the Walton Family and Zimmerman Family listed. I hope you will come back often as I add more families to this site.
Until all the family lines are proven, there are bound to be errors. As soon as proof is acquired the errors will be corrected. If something is too obvious, in regards to being questionable, I shall not even list it.
Included on this site are other areas of interest to genealogist and non-genealogist. Their origins came from genealogy mail list and web sites, as well as my own research. Be sure to take a look at the "Women of Yesteryear" page; "Funerals and Cemeteries" pages; "Cottar Safari" page; and finally the "Protect and Serve" police page.
While you are enjoying the pages, within, be sure to visit the links posted. Thank you for stopping by. I would like to invite you to sign my guest book. Come back soon. ~Karen
