The following information has been ten years in the making. We currently have a database of over
38,000 individuals.
The Zebarah/Zibara Family and the Assemani Family came from Hasroun, Mount
Lebanon, in the Ottoman Empire. This is currently the country of Lebanon. There were four main families in Hasroun: the Assemani Family, the Aouads/Awad Family, the Afarita Family and the Hawarina Family. The Zibara family falls under the Alfarita family.
Members of the Assemani Family were instrumental in the formation of the Maronite Church in Lebanon. It is our understanding that the family has lived in Hasrun since the 1700's.
The Fite Family and the Bresbois Family have European roots (England, Germany, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Alsace-Lorraine).
Several of Cheryl's ancestors fought in the Revolutionary War. Brig. General Matthew Locke and Brig. General Griffith Rutherford, both from Salsibury, Rowan Co, NC, are among Cheryl's ancestral grandparents. Other Revolutionary War Veterans include Benjamin Lentz and Peter Crowell of Rowan Co, NC and Robert Jennings of Prince Edward Co, VA. Our Peter Fite, Sr. may also have fought for our country but because of the inadavertant combining of the two Fite families in NC we may never know for sure which one fought in the Revolution.
