Kimberly Fielder of York County came to Lottery Headquarters in Richmond to claim her $150,000 prize from the Tuesday, October 20 Big Game drawing. The six winning numbers drawn were 06-09-10-22-28+19. Fielder correctly matched the first five numbers to win the $150,000 prize, which is the second highest prize in the game.
Fielder purchased her winning ticket from 7-Eleven, 8530 George Washington Highway in Yorktown. She selected the winning combination herself. "There are six in my family, two with the same birthday," said Fielder. "So I used those five numbers which turned out to be pretty lucky!"
Fielder received a check for $102,00 after taxes. The Lottery is required to withhold 28% for federal taxes and 4% for state taxes on all prizes over $5,000. Fielder said she has no immediate plans for her winnings other than to take a short vacation.
The Big Game is a multi-state game, now drawn twice a week on Tuesday and Friday. A total of six states participate in the game. Big Game jackpots start at $5.0 million and continue to grow until they are won.
