5. James2 Turner (Thomas1)(715) was born in Pendelton Dist., Anderson Co., SC. January 2, 1773. James died January 25, 1849 in Bloomington, Monroe Co., IN., at 76 years of age.

He married Martha Dickey about 1803. Martha was born in Northern Ireland August 25, 1780. She was the daughter of William Dickey and Anne Sherard. Martha died January 25, 1865 in IN., at 84 years of age. James Turner was a long time member of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church (ARP) at Generostee, SC. He was also a member and elder for about 12 yrs. in the ARP church in Indiana on the Little Blue River. Then he attended his son, William Dickey Turner's church in Bloomington for about 5 yrs. At the time of his death, James Turner was living with his son-in-law, John M. Amerman.

James Turner and Martha Dickey had the following children:

child 15 i. Lucy3 Turner was born about 1804. Lucy died June 26, 1897 in IN.. Her body was interred after June 26, 1897 in Richland Cem., Monroe Co.,IN.. She married George Cornwell in SC/IN, about 1835. George was born about 1815. (See George Cornwell for the continuation of this line.)

child + 16 ii. William Dickey Turner was born August 25, 1806.

child + 17 iii. Thomas T. Turner was born April 7, 1808.

child 18 iv. Sarah Jane Turner was born 1810. Sarah died 1894 in Tippah Co., MS.. She married John Watt after 1826. John & Sarah Watt had five children, names unknown.

child + 19 v. James Turner was born 1815.

child 20 vi. Martha Turner was born 1815. Either Martha & James were twins, or one has the wrong birth year listed. She married John M. Ammerman after 1831. (See John M. Ammerman for the continuation of this line.)

child 21 vii. Girl Turner was born 1817.

child 22 viii. Jane Turner was born 1818. She married Nathaniel Ward after 1834.
