1. William¹ Collins was born in Virginia 1810.

He married twice. He married an unknown person 1830. He married Marie Ann Michael in Lawrence Co., Il, July 12, 1848. Marie was born in PA. about 1814. Marie's age is given as 36, b.PA. on the 1850 census. However, I think her age was actually a couple of years younger. If she is one of William Michael's daughters listed as 10-15 in 1830. She was the daughter of William Michael and Sarah Arney or Erni. Marie Ann Michael was William & Sarah Amey Michael's daughter. Marie Michael married William Collins in Lawrence Co.,IL. William Collins had been married before and had at least one child, daughter Mary A. Collins. This daughter, Mary A. Collins, later married Marie Michael's brother, Samuel Michael. But they were not blood relatives. Marie was her brother's step-mother.

William Collins had the following child:

2 i. Mary Ann² Collins was born January 6, 1835. Mary died December 13, 1879 in Lawrence County, Illinois, at 44 years of age. Rhonda provided me a copy of 1880 Lawrence Co.,IL. Death Register Records, Mary Michael is recorded as dying from pulmonary problems at age 44. Her body was interred December 17, 1879 in Bridgeport City Cem, Lawrence Co., Il.. She married Samuel Michael in Lawrence Co.,IL., May 13, 1860.(126)

Samuel was born in Pa. March 25, 1815. He was the son of William Michael and Sarah Arney or Erni. He married Caroline Turner in Lawrence Co., Il, May 13, 1880.⁽¹²⁷⁾ He married Susan Eakas or Eckiss in Wayne Co., Ohio, September 14, 1837.⁽¹²⁸⁾ Samuel died January 27, 1896 in Romine Township, Marion County, Illinois, at 80 years of age. His body was interred 1896 in Wooley Cem., Iuka Twp., Marion Co., Il.. (See Samuel Michael for the continuation of this line.) According to Mortality Schedule for year ending 1st June, 1880 for the State of Illinois, County of Lawrence, Township of Christy - Mary A. Michael died at age 44, born in Illinois, parents born in Virginia, death due to pulmonary problems. I had heard that Mary was murdered, but the schedule does not mention it.

William Collins and Marie Ann Michael had the following child:
