5. Allen Sr.3 Bond (Wright2, Page1) was born in Cumberland, Va. July 21, 1785. Allen died August 23, 1861 in Shields, Jefferson, Il., at 76 years of age. His body was interred August 25, 1861 in Shields, Jeff., Il., Bond Farm Cemetery.

He married three times. He married Matilda Lawrence in Bedford, Va., June 12, 1804. Matilda died before 1817. He married Elizabeth Gouldman Donoho in Gallatin, Sumner Co., Tn., March 26, 1817.(61) Elizabeth was born in Tn 1800. She was the daughter of James Donoho and Elizabeth Lowery. Elizabeth died before 1845 in IL.. He married Caroline E. Drugin in Shields, Jefferson, Il., March 14, 1839.(62) Caroline was born in Ky. 1826. She married Jehu Norman in Jefferson Co.,IL, September 21, 1862.(63)

An Allen Bond was listed as the head of a family on the 1800 Census in Bedford Co.,VA.. - But I now believe this was a cousin or uncle of Allen s/o Wright Bond (64) Allen was listed as the head of a family on the 1850 Census in Jefferson Co.,IL..(65) Allen Bond Sr. was born in Virginia and was a blacksmith. In the 1850 census of Jefferson County, Illinois Allen Sr. was reported as the head of household, he was 63 years of age. Also present in that house was BOND: Caroline( Drugin) Bond (24) ca 1826, his wife, who was born in KY. Thomas Bond (17) ca. 1833 his son, a farmer born in Tn., and Ephraim H. Bond (4) ca 1846, born in Illinois to Allen Sr. and his wife Caroline. Allen Bond, Sr. was the receipient of LAND GRANTS IN FARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, JEFFERSON COUNTY, IL. in Sections 16/16, 17, 20. (Dennis notes this usually only occurs if one has been in the service of his country. But could it also be from his father's service in the Revolutionary War? We both believe Allen Sr. probably served in the War of 1812, but have not confirmed from which state, VA or TN.) Allen (1783-87) first appears on the 1840 Illinois census in Jefferson County, Il. On the 1850 Il. Census he was listed in Jefferson Co., Il. in the 10th District. Also on the same census in the 10th District of Il. are the following persons named BOND: Edward, Michael and William R.(this is his son WILLIAM RILEY) You will note the absence of JAMES B. BOND, who was killed in the Black Hawk Wars and was the father of Allen Wright Bond. The administrator of Allen Sr.'s estate was his great grandson, the infamous Barney E. Wells, the Sheriff of Marion County, IL. Allen Sr. died intestate and left the following heirs: Caroline Bond (now Norman), Jane Bond Marcum, heirs of Polly Bond Williamson, ie. James Williamson, Elizabeth Williamson, Carrol Williamson (a male), Thomas Williamson (in the Army), Thomas G. Bond, Ephriam H. Bond, Allen Bond, grand son and son of James Bond deceased, and the heirs of William Riley Bond, ie. Calvin Bond, and Polly Preston Bond, his children and lawful heirs, one of which said Calvin Bond is a minor.

Allen Sr. Bond and Matilda Lawrence had the following children:

child + 12 i. James B.4 Bond was born about 1805.

child 13 ii. Martha W. Bond was born in Bedford, Va about 1807. She married Hiram Hundley in Bedford, Va, April 17, 1827.

Allen Sr. Bond and Elizabeth Donoho had the following children:

child 14 iii. Polly J. Bond was born in Tennessee about 1820. Estimated by marriage date, Polly may have been born as early as 1818. Her parents married in March 1817. Polly died about 1847 in Jefferson Co., Illinois. She married Henry Williamson in Jefferson Co., Illinois, January 3, 1838.(66) Henry was born in Tennessee 1811. He was the son of Henry Williamson and Nancy Nothen. He married Mary Donoho in Jefferson Co., Illinois, April 12, 1849.(67) He married Isabel Green in Jefferson Co., Illinois, August 1, 1861.(68) Henry died after August 1861 in Jefferson Co., Illinois. Last appeared on census in 1860 and married the last time in August of 1861.

Henry was listed as the head of a family on the 1840 Census in Jefferson Co.,IL..(69) Henry was listed as the head of a family on the 1850 Census in Jefferson Co.,IL..(70) Henry was listed as the head of a family on the 1860 Census in Pendleton Twp.,Jefferson Co.,IL..(71) (See Henry Williamson for the continuation of this line.) Polly Bond Williamson's heirs are listed in her father's probate in 1861.

child 15 iv. Sarah Jane Bond was born in Tn. 1824. Sarah died 1870 in Jefferson Co., Il. She married Bird Marcum in Jefferson Co., Illinois, November 29, 1843.(72) Bird was born February 14, 1818. He was the son of Mose Marcum and Belle Williamson. He married Lucy H. Donoho in Jefferson Co., Il, October 2, 1872. Bird died January 14, 1886 in Vandalia, Fayette Co., Il., at 67 years of age. Bird was listed as the head of a family on the 1880 Census in Jefferson Co.,IL.(73) (See Bird Marcum for the continuation of this line.)

child + 16 v. William Riley Bond was born 1827.

child 17 vi. Thomas G. Bond was born in TN. 1833. Thomas died before 1866. Cinthia D. Russell married again in 1866, unsure if she was widowed or divorced. He married Cinthia Druzilla Russell in Jefferson, Il., April 4, 1862.(74)

Drucille was born in Tn 1845. She was the daughter of John F. Russell. She married Berryman H Haney in Jefferson Co., Illinois, December 27, 1866.(75) Drucille died 1879 in IL.. Her body was interred 1879 in Mt. Zion Cem., Jefferson Co.,IL., Mt. Zion.(76)

Allen Sr. Bond and Caroline E. Drugin had the following child:

child 18 vii. Ephraim H. Bond was born in Jefferson Co., Illinois 1846. He married Tarsa Ann Haney in Mt.Vernon, Jefferson Co., IL., April 6, 1864.(77) Tarsa was born in Jefferson Co., Illinois 1847. She was the daughter of William Haney and Delilah Haney.
