1. James White¹ Griffin was born in Tennessee March 17, 1846. James died September 29, 1896 at 50 years of age. His body was interred in Sumner County, Tennessee.

He married Jane Catherine Short in Sumner County, Tennessee, October 22, 1868. Jane was born in Tennessee July 25, 1847. She was the daughter of Isaac Martin Short and Jennette White. Jane died September 11, 1895 at 48 years of age. Her body was interred in Sumner County, Tennessee.

James White Griffin and Jane Catherine Short had the following children:

2 i. J.m.² Griffin.

3 ii. Paul Griffin.

+ 4 iii. Stephen M. Griffin was born September 2, 1869.
