1. John¹ Bryant was born in Albemarle Co.,VA. November 5, 1754.⁽⁵⁶⁾

He married Judy Elizabeth Winfrey before 1781. Judy was born in Cumberland Co.,VA. 1765. Judy died September 22, 1842 in Carnes, Jackson Co.,AL.. Mary Bryant Parks states that John Bryant was a Revolutionary War soldier from Buckingham Co.,VA. The family moved from Virginia to Kentucky, then to Lincoln Co.,Tennessee, with the Sheltons and Luttrells, before moving to Alabama.

John Bryant and Judy Elizabeth Winfrey had the following children:

2 i. Alexander² Bryant was born in Buckingham Co.,VA. 1781. He married Elizabeth Anderson about 1800. Estimated date.

3 ii. William Bryant was born after 1781.

4 iii. Benjamin Bryant was born after 1781.

5 iv. Randolph Bryant was born in Amherst Co.,VA. November 18, 1786. Randolph died August 1, 1856 in Carnes, Jackson Co.,AL., at 69 years of age. He married Elizabeth Mary Alexander in Adair Co.,VA., 1813.

6 v. James T. Bryant was born in Virginia June 5, 1790. James died May 14, 1850 in Fairfield, Wayne Co.,IL., at 59 years of age. He married Rachel possibly Gleason or St. Clair in VA., before 1817. Mary Bryant Park has a copy of a letter from James' wife, Rachel, to their son William Gleason Bryant which tells of James' death and names the other children.

7 vi. Sarah Ann Bryant was born in Amherst Co.,VA 25 JUN 1792. Sarah died 29 MAY 1894 in Schuyler Co.,IL, at 101 years of age. Her body was interred 30 MAY 1894 in Old Ridgeville Cem.,Schuyler Co.,IL, Old Ridgeville. She married Shelton Luttrell in Lincoln Co.,TN, November 18, 1813. Shelton was born in Casey Co.,KY. May 12, 1795. He was the son of Nathan Luttrell and Ann Shelton. Shelton died 1882 in Schuyler Co.,IL?. Shelton served in the military 1812. Shelton applied for bounty land in Pulaski Co.,MO., March 3, 1855. 120 acres SE quarter of section 19 - West half NE quarter of section 30, TWP 38-R-13, District of lands in Warsaw, MO. Deed to Lewis Luttrell on Aug.3,1860. W. Lewis Luttrell signed on Shelton's pension on Apr.13,1855. William Lewis Luttrell also signed on Benjamin Luttrell's estate in 1851, Schuyler Co.,IL. 8 vii. John Jr. Bryant was born in Amelia Co.,VA. 1793. John died November 19, 1876 in Schuyler Co.,IL.. He married Elizabeth McNew in Posey Co.,Indiana, 1818.
