He married Margery Elkins in Westmoreland Co?, PA., ca.1809. Margery was born in Mifflin Co.,PA. ca.1793. She was the daughter of Robert Elkins and Jane Conner. Margery died Dec.21,1872 in Decatur Co.,IN.. Her body was interred Dec.23,1872 in Mapelton Cem.,Sand Creek Twp.,Decatur Co.,IN..

William was listed as the head of a family on the 1820 Census in Logan Twp.,Dearborn Co.,PA..(954) William was listed as the head of a family on the 1830 Census in Morgan Twp.,Butler Co.,Ohio.⁽⁹⁵⁵⁾ William was listed as the head of a family on the 1850 Census in Sand Creek Twp.,Decatur Co.,IN..⁽⁹⁵⁶⁾ I found some notes on brothers William & Jesse, who married Elkins' sisters. From "David Livengood" : "In 1814, Jesse and brother William left PA on a flat boat carrying also the Elkins family who were their neighbors in PA. They floated down the Ohio River to Cincinnati, OH and on the way the two boys fell in love with two of the Elkins daughters. Jesse married Sarah Elkins on March 31, 1814... Information on William and Jesse and their ancestors and descendants mostly obtained from a descendant of Jesse's. William married Margery Elkins." This conflicts as to the sequence of events, since most family histories give 1809 as William & Margery Elkins Talkington's date of marriage. It is very likely true in that they all traveled together about 1814 to Ohio, but William and Margery would have already been married. Also, William must have returned to Pennsylvania, at least for awhile, because he is listed as head-of-household there in Logan Twp.,Dearborn Co.,PA. 1820.

15 iii. Sarah Ann Talkington was born in OH September 15, 1816. Sarah died October 19, 1898 in Burnt Prairie Twp.,White Co.,IL, at 82 years of age. She married Thomas M. Canann in Ripley Co.,IN, October 3, 1835. Thomas was born before 1816.

+ 16 iv. Charles Talkington was born 1820.

17 v. Mary Talkington was born in Butler Co.,OH November 7, 1821. Polly died August 15, 1893 in Decatur Co.,IN, at 71 years of age. Her body was interred August 1893 in Asbury Cem.,Jackson Twp.,Decatur Co.,IN, Asbury. She married Samuel Lough in Decatur Co.,IN, March 3, 1842.

18 vi. Ellen Talkington was born in IN 1823.

19 vii. Margery Talkington was born in IN 1832. She married William Keely in Decatur Co.,IN, February 26, 1871.

20 viii. William Jr. Talkington was born in Napoleon, Ripley Co.,IN March 23, 1833. Bill died October 16, 1922 in Decatur Co.,IN, at 89 years of age. His body was interred October 1922 in Wesley Cem.,Jackson Twp.,Decatur Co.,IN, Wesley. He married Susannah Chrisman in Decatur Co.,IN, February 22, 1856.(958) Susannah was born before 1840. There was apparently a newspaper article about William Jr. Talkington in the INDIANAPOLIS NEWS on Sep.10,1957 p.9 , which referred to him as "Hummer Bill".

21 ix. David Talkington was born in IN 1836. He married Mary Ann Yauger in Decatur Co.,IN, March 21, 1861.

22 x. Angeline Talkington was born in IN 1838.

23 xi. Diantha Talkington was born in Decatur Co.,Indiana Oct.18,1842. Diantha died Mar.25,1914 in Wayne Co.,IL., at 71 years of age. Her body was interred 1914 in West Cemetery,Wayne Co.,IL.. She married three times. She married Sanford Baldridge in Decatur Co.,IN., Dec.03,1857. She married James Foster in Decatur Co.,Indiana, Aug.27,1862.(959) James was born in Ohio 1826. He married unknown in IN or OH., about 1854. James died before 1880 in White or Wayne Co.? IL.. James was listed as the head of a family on the 1870 Census in White Co.,IL..⁽⁹⁶⁰⁾ (See James Foster for the continuation of this line.) She married William T. Dolton Dalton in Wayne Co.,IL., 1880. William was born in Illinois 1837. He married an unknown person in probably Wayne Co.,IL., about 1860. William was listed as the head of a family on the 1880 Census in Wayne Co.,IL..(961)
