James was listed as the head of a family on the 1860 Census in T3N, R5E, Xenia P.O., Clay Co.,IL..⁽⁵⁸⁷⁾ James was listed as the head of a family on the 1870 Census in Xenia Twp.,Clay Co.,IL.⁽⁵⁸⁸⁾ There are several families of Hendersons in Clay Co., Illinois by 1860. I believe they are related to Jesse Henderson's family, but I have not yet proven how. In James probate record, his children are listed in alphabetical order by last names: Elizabeth Anderson , dau; E.S. Boyles, conservator ad litem for R A Henderson, Isadore Colclasure, granddau, d/o Jerusha F. Henderson, Elen Erwin, dau, Archibald M Henderson, son, Exe, George William Henderson, son, Bates Co., MO., Jerusha F Henderson, dau, dec'd, John D Henderson, son, Pittsburg, KS. (later in list Hiram Taylor is listed as Adm John D Henderson dec'd 1889), Joseph J Henderson, son, Frontenac, KS., Mack Henderson, relative ?, boarded with James Henderson from Dec 13, 1878 to Aug, 1883 at death, faulty speech and blind, Rebecca Ann Henderson, dau, insane, Mary Irwin, dau. Many witnesses, etc. No Widow, d/o/w Dec 20, 1880 Bk A p 80 - Jury trial re disappearance of money from dec'd room (Mrs. Henderson's death & money missing?- no defendant is named in probate record, but Jurors are named) Jurors: Wm Man; J M Anderson; W J Morris; M H Davis; James Kerby; A J Burton; N B Wilson; William S Debusk; R G Thompson; J J Spriggs; A H Moore; Lewis Shepard.

5 iv. Elizabeth Henderson was born about 1836. She married an unknown person in Clay Co.,IL, March 15, 1853.(589) Elizabeth is listed as Elizabeth Anderson in father James' probate.

6 v. Rebecca A. Henderson was born in IN. 1837. Rebecca is listed as age 23 b. IN. in 1860, then listed as Ann age 30 b.KY. in 1870. She never married and is listed as insane on her father's probate records.

7 vi. Joseph J. Henderson was born in IN. 1838. He resided in Frontenac, KS 1883. Joseph is listed as 22 b. IN. in 1860 and 28 b. KY. in 1870. James Henderson's probate show son Joseph living in Frontenac, KS in 1883.

8 vii. John D. Henderson⁽⁵⁹⁰⁾ was born in IL. 1841. John died 1889 in KS. He resided in Pittsburg, KS 1883.
