November 4, 1820.⁽³⁹²⁾ John died June 20, 1906 in Decatur Co.,IN., at 85 years of age.⁽³⁹³⁾ The obituary gives 1903 as year of death, the cemetery inscriptions give it as 1906. His body was interred after June 20, 1906 in Union Chapel Cem., Adams Twp., Decatur Co.,IN..⁽³⁹⁴⁾

He married Elizabeth Martin in Decatur Co.,IN., March 30, 1841.(395) Elizabeth was born in Kentucky June 1, 1816.⁽³⁹⁶⁾ Obituary gives 1815 as year of birth, but tombstone inscription gives 6-1-1816.

Elizabeth died April 26, 1886 in Decatur Co.,IN., at 69 years of age.⁽³⁹⁷⁾ Her body was interred after April 26, 1886 in Union Chapel Cem., Decatur Co.,IN.. John S. Chambers was a Methodist preacher. John and family lived in Bartholomew Co., IN. in 1860. His son George married in Bartholomew County in 1861.

John S. Chambers and Elizabeth Martin had the following children:

4 ii. George P. Chambers was born in IN May 24, 1844. George died May 24, 1923 in IN, at 79 years of age. George's tombstone says 1924 as yr. of death. He married Christina Smith in Bartholomew Co.,IN, 1861.

5 iii. Sarah E. Chambers was born in IN 1847.

6 iv. Joseph N. Chambers was born in IN August 13, 1849.

7 v. Lucinda F. Chambers was born in IN about 1852.

8 vi. Lydia J. Chambers was born in IN February 1856.
