7. Abraham² Chriss (Abraham Sr.¹ Criss or Chriss) was born in OH 1822.⁽⁴⁶⁵⁾ Abraham died before July 1866 in IN.⁽⁴⁶⁶⁾

He married Catherine Anspach in IN, October 26, 1842.(467) Decatur Co.,IN.

Catherine was born in OH September 1826. She was the daughter of John Anspach and Lydia Bailey. Catherine died August 24, 1899 in Shelby Co.,IN.⁽⁴⁶⁸⁾

Abraham Chriss and Catherine Anspach had the following children:

27 i. Lydia A.³ Chriss⁽⁴⁶⁹⁾ was born in IN 1844. She married Mr. Garrett in IN, before 1866. Lydia A. Chriss is mentioned in her grandmother's probate in 1866 separately from the under-age children.

28 ii. Mary C. Chriss was born in IN September 24, 1845. She married James B. Garrett before 1866. Mary C. Chriss Garret is mentioned in her grandmother's probate of July 11, 1866.

29 iii. George W. Chriss was born in IN 1848. George W. Chriss was mentioned in his grandmother's probate as one of the children who were under age and still under his mother's care in 1866. I assume the males had to be 21 to be independent.

30 iv. Sarah E. Chriss was born in IN after 1850. Sarah E. was mentioned in her grandmother's probate in 1866 as under her mother's guardianship.

31 v. Amanda J. Chriss⁽⁴⁷⁰⁾ was born in IN after 1851. Amanda J. was mentioned in her grandmother's probate in 1866 as under her mother's guardianship.

32 vi. Eliza C. Chriss⁽⁴⁷¹⁾ was born in Decatur Co.,IN December 16, 1852. Eliza died January 23, 1930 in Alexandria, Madison Co.,IN, at 77 years of age. She married twice. She married John Wesley McGinnis in Greensburg, Decatur County, Indiana, November 28, 1869.(472) John was born in Madison Co., Indiana May 6, 1851. John died March 24, 1911 in Madison Twp., Tipton Co., IN, at 59 years of age. She married Frank Boman or Bowen March 16, 1912. Frank was born in OH January 27, 1851. Frank died 1929 in IN. Eliza C. Chriss was mentioned in her grandmother's probate in 1866 as under her mother's guardianship. Tonya Kellum tells me: Eliza C. Chriss, daughter of Abraham Jr. and Catherine Anspach, on her marriage application to John W. McGinnis lists her mother's name as Catherine Amspaugh and father as Abraham Chriss, on the marriage application to Frank Bowen she lists her father as Abraham Criss and mother as Kathryn Amspaugh.
