First Generation

1. Philip1 Dils or Diehl was born before 1735.

Philip Dils or Diehl had the following child:

child 2 i. Mary Magthalena2 Dils was born 1754. Mary died 20 MAR 1845 in Middletown,Butler Co.,OH. Her body was interred after 20 MAR 1845 in Middletown,Butler Co.,OH, Astoria. She married Johan Nicolas Deem in MD/PA, before 1777. This date is approximate, no records have been found that I know of.

Johan was born in Maryland or PA September 6, 1753. Robert Sharp gives Maryland for bp. but states that Johannes Adam lived in Berks Co.,PA between 1754-1759 & later moved to Frederick Co.,MD (by 1771). So, I would assume PA in 1753. He states another account gives Nov.21,1756 in Berks Co.,PA as date & place of Johan Nicolas Diehm/Deem's birth. He was the son of Johannes Adam Diehm and Anna Christina Bruenig?.

Johan died August 29, 1835 in Middletown,Butler Co.,OH, at 81 years of age. The cemetery readings say: John Deem died August 29, 1835 age 83. Mary Deem died March 20,1845 age 91.

His body was interred after August 29, 1835 in Middletown,Butler Co.,OH, Astoria. Astoria Cemetery is in Madison Twp.,Butler Co.,OH. Section 6, Township 2, Range 4. Also known as Astoria-Poastown & Elk Creek Cemetery.

He was baptized in Berks Co.,PA., November 28, 1756. Religion: religion unknown. Johan Nicolas Deem was baptised at Trinity Tulpehocken Reformed Church . (See Johan Nicolas Deem for the continuation of this line.)
