59. Johann George⁴ Anspach (Johan Jacob³, Johan George², Johannes Balthasar¹, Hans Jacob^A, Hans Henrich^B, Jacob^C, Jacob^D, Jacob^E, Ambrosius^F)⁽⁸³⁾ was born in Berks Co., PA. March 31, 1772.⁽⁸⁴⁾ George died June 9, 1846 in Miami Twp., Montgomery Co.,OH, at 72 years of age. His body was interred after June 9, 1846 in Gebhart Cemetery, Miamisburg, OH.

He married Mariah Magdalena Peters about 1800. Mariah was born in Berks Co.,PA January 26, 1778.(85) Mariah died March 7, 1857 in Miami Twp., Montgomery Co.,OH, at 79 years of age. Her body was interred after March 7, 1857 in Gebhart Cemetery, Miamisburg, OH. I believe this is the George Anspach in Miami Valley, Ohio Pioneers by Lindsay M. Brien (Mayhill, 1970). In it he is listed as born 1764 Berks Co.,PA., married (for the second time) to Magdalena Peters, moved to Ohio in 1833, died in Montgomery Co., Ohio in 1864. This book lists George and family on page 003, with the children including: sons - Daniel, Jacob (b.1822, md. 1849 Elizabeth Brehm), John (md. 1825 Catharine Sheets), Jonathan, Joseph (md. 1838 Eva Butt), and daughters - Catherine who married John Waggoner in 1825 Montgomery Co.,Ohio (she is listed under George's brother John in most group sheets), Elizabeth (md. 1831 Elias Recher/Reiger - Elizabeth is also usually listed under John & Catherine Kurr Anspach), Lydia, Magdalena, and Sarah. I think the death date was transposed for George. Michael Spaulding has seen the tombstone, which is in German, definitely says 31 Mar 1774, and clearly calls him Anspach. The wife's stone says Anspauch or Anspaugh, two sons are Anspaugh, a daughter, Anspach. This family has tried every variation of spelling! Leah Brilman's husband descends from this line and gives this info.: George Anspach according to his tombstone was born 31 Mar 1774 in Berks Co., PA. He died 9 June 1846 in Miami Township, Montgomery Co., OH and is buried in Gebhart Cemetery, Miamisburg, OH. He was listed as a farmer in Miami Township. He married Mariah Magdalena Peter (I have also seen it as Maria and as Peters).

Johann George Anspach and Mariah Magdalena Peters had the following children:

93 v. John Anspach was born in Berks Co.,PA about 1805. Birth estimated from marriage date. He married Catherine Sheets in Montgomery Co.,OH, November 25, 1825.

94 vi. Elizabeth Anspach was born in Berks Co.,PA about 1811. She married Elias Recher in Montgomery Co., OH, December 25, 1831. This Elizabeth is listed under John & Catherine Kurr Anspach in my files and her husband under Elias Reiger.

95 vii. Sarah Anspach⁽⁸⁶⁾ was born in Berks Co.,PA 1814. Sarah Anspach born 1814. Buried in Gebhart Cemetery. Did not appear to have married.

96 viii. Daniel Anspach was born in Berks Co.,PA June 21, 1817. Daniel died July 6, 1889 in Miami Twp., Montgomery Co.,OH, at 72 years of age. His body was interred after July 6, 1889 in Gebhart Cemetery, Miamisburg, OH. He married Mary unknown after 1834. Mary was born 1807. Mary died August 31, 1880 in Miami Twp., Montgomery Co.,OH. Her body was interred after August 31, 1880 in Gebhart Cemetery, Miamisburg, OH.

97 ix. Joseph Anspach was born in Berks Co.,PA about 1818. Birth estimated from marriage date. He married Eva Butt in Montgomery Co.,OH, April 29, 1838.

+ 98 x. Jacob Anspach was born March 19, 1822.
