183. John Jr.6 Anspach (John5, John4, Johan Jacob3, Johan George2, Johannes Balthasar1, Hans JacobA, Hans HenrichB, JacobC, JacobD, JacobE, AmbrosiusF) was born in Decatur County, Indiana December 5, 1834. A biographical sketch gives 1832 as date of birth. Date used estimated from death record. John died after 1884 in Jasper Co.,IL..(245)

He married twice. He married Emeline Parkison in Shelby County, Indiana, August 30, 1855.(246) Emeline was born in Indiana about 1838. She was the daughter of Jonathan Parkison and Mary A. Criss. Emeline died before 1858 in Indiana. Emeline does not appear in the 1850 census with rest of the Parkison family, the Will is only tie to Jonathan found, and marriage record is tie to John Anspach.

He married Mary Jane Parkison in Shelby County, Indiana, April 25, 1858. Mary was born in Indiana after 1838. She was the daughter of Samuel Parkison and Sarah Anne Chambers. Mary died after 1900 in IL.. Mary was listed as the head of a family on the 1900 Census in Willow Hill Twp., Jasper Twp., IL.(247) Mary Jane & John Anspach lived near Oblong, IL. at least part of the time. In 1861 they deeded Mary Jane's "undivided interest as an heir at law of Nancy Chambers, deceased" to Nicholas Chambers. Mary Jane is listed in the Mound Cemetery Plat book, as Jane Anspach, but Robert Parkison found no stone for her.

John was listed as the head of a family on the 1860 Census in Sand Creek Twp.,Decatur Co.,IN..(248) John was listed as the head of a family on the 1870 Census in Willow Hill Twp., Jasper Twp., IL.(249) John was listed as the head of a family on the 1880 Census in Jasper Co.,IL.(250) According to 1884 Biographical History by Battey. Call # F547.C9B33 Not indexed. Page 510, Willow Hill Township Section. John Auspach, farmer, is a native of Decatur County, Ind. and is the third son of John and Lydia (Bailey) Auspach, both of whom were natives of Ohio. Our subject was born in the year 1832 and when ten years of age removed to Ohio, where he obtained some educational training and remained until he was twenty years old, he then returned to Decatur County; remained about seven years and purchased his present farm of 220 acres, which is largely improved and well cultivated. The consort of John Auspach was Mary J. Parkison, a native of Indiana, by whom he is the father of two children--George H. and Marion S. In politics he is allied with the Democratic element, and is an enlightened gentleman and a progressive citizen. This biographical sketch is mis-leading because John was married twice and the second wife was Mary J., who out-lived him, though it sounds as if she died before the sketch was written. John moved to Jasper Co.,IL. before the 1884 sketch. So his family seemed to move back and forth between Shelby & Decatur Co., Indiana and Jasper Co., Illinois. They are found under Anspach, Anspaugh, Auspach, and Amspaugh spellings.

Mary Martha is recorded as Martha Amspaugh on her marriage entry in 1876 to John H. Longsdorf. She is listed as Mattie on the 1880 census in Decatur Co., IN.
