only information was Peter's name, age at time of death, and date of death. No cemetery was mentioned, and to date no burial has been found.
He married three times. He married Anne Lanning in Decatur County, Indiana, July 31, 1838.(208) Anne was born 8 OCT 1816. RI., Rhode Island, is
given as Birthplace on 1850 census. Anne died before 1854.(209) I believe the Ann Anspach burial record in Union/ Dutch Chapel Cemetery in St. Paul, Indiana is Peter's first wife: if so, Ann died Mar 19, 1853. This info on Union Chapel burials from Janet M. Jones.
He married Sarah Jane Rouze in Indiana, September 8, 1853.(210) Sarah was born in Decatur Co.,IN May 31, 1831.(211) She was the daughter of Joseph Rouze and Susan
Forsyth. Sarah died before September 1855 in IN.(212) I believe that Peter, son of Jacob & Elloner Israel Anspach, was married to Sarah Jane Rouze. He remarried in 1855, after Sarah Jane died. Arva Williams provided most of the info. on Sarah Jane's family. Her great-grandmother
was Sarah Jane's sister. Arva can be contacted for Rouze & related info. Arva says the book Genealogy of the Joseph Rouze Family by Ellan A.(Nellie) Sherman has this entry for Peter & Sarah Jane Rouze Anspach: Sarah Jane Rouze, the fifth child of Joseph and Susan Rouze, was born May 31,1831. In 1853 she married Peter Anspach. They moved near Flora in Clay County, Illinois. They made this their home until a few months after the birth of their daughter. Sarah Jane was in poor health, so they decided to return to the home of her parents in Indiana. The covered wagon was equipped with the necessary articles for traveling and also a bed to convey the sick mother and her baby in a comfortable way. It was a hazardous journey. On reaching the home of the parents (Joseph and Susan Rouze) the father and mother rushed out to greet their daughter and family. Sarah Jane raised up in her bed and placed her baby in the arms of her mother. " I have brought her home to you.' she said. "Will you keep her as your own?" In a few weeks she died. Sarah Jane was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and was loyal to its teaching. Interment was made in a little cemetery on the home farm. The baby was given the name of her mother, Sarah Jane, and was brought up in the home of her grandparents. She remained with them until her marriage to

Peter's occupation: blacksmith/mason/prospector in IN.,IL.,CA., 1838. Peter was listed as the head of a family on the

was a Mason. He also did blacksmithing and prospecting in Plumis, Sierra, & Shasta Counties in California from 1860-1865. Letters were
written to his daughters in Clay Co.,IL from this time period. Peter died in Shasta,CA. and is assumed to be buried there. In one letter,
Peter tells his son-in-law to get the blacksmith books & a left-handed plow (he thought Michael might have) which belonged to Peter. He also
told his children to get his livestock and divide up the money or animals. It seems that Armilda and baby were with her family and must have
