He married Isabelle S. Anspach in Williams Co., OH, Feb. 27, 1883. Isabelle was born in Williams Co., OH Nov. 16, 1859. Isabelle⁽²⁸⁾ was the daughter of George E. Anspach and Matilda Jane Coslet. At 24 years of age Isabelle became the mother of Ethel Johnson ca. 1884.

At 26 years of age William became the father of Ethel Johnson ca. 1884.

William D. Johnson and Isabelle S. Anspach had the following child:
