[386] Loane Brothers sold cars and car spare parts. They had the franchisefor Wolsley and Riley cars which they acquired in March, 1949 (seecover page of The Nambour Chronicle, 4-MAR-1949). Mum worked herestraight after she finished high school at Nambour.
[387] Mum worked weekends and nights part-time while working in her otherjobs.
[388] Mum was good friends with Ronda Fresser who she went to school with(grades 9 and 10). Mum worked with Jeff Fresser who was the head bakerand showed mum the business.

[385] Mum's mother moved down to Maroochydore to become a house-keeper forColin (Pop) BARNETT after her first husband died. She tells the storythat she travelled down by train with a girl friend of her's (JuneBrown) and a porter travelled with them to take care of them. Theywere met at the Nambour Station by her Uncle Jack and Aunty Flo. Shestayed with them for about a week before moving down to Maroochydoreto stay with her mother. She resided here until her marriage to CecilYOUNG but spent a lot of time at Nambour (Carter's Road) with herAunty Flo and Uncle Jack, who she says in many ways brought her up.While attending High School at Nambour, mum stayed quite a lot withJack and Flo and she even had her own room in the house. In the lateryears when she worked in Maroochydore she stayed more with her mother.

After Cecil YOUNG was killed, Dot, Walter and Coral continued to runthe business as a three-way partnership. They did this through untilJul-1974 when Mum then started work at the Sunshine Plantation.
Walter and Coral then went on to buy the Palmwoods Hotel followed by atransport business.
[397] Mum bought this house from Walter and Coral YOUNG after dad's death.

The priest who performed the marriage was Francis George KNIGTH(Church of England). The witnesses were Walter Andrew YOUNG (Cecil'sbrother) and Coral Shelia RIGG (who later married Walter). As thebride was under the age of 21 years, consent for her marriage wasgiven by Cecelia BARNETT, Dot's "surviving parent and guardian". Atthe time of the marriage, Cecil was a bachelor and Dot was a spinster.
The reception was help at the C.W.A. Hall in Maryoochydore and Dot wasgiven away by Colin "Pop" Barnett.

The celebrant at the marriage was Daniel Joseph RYAN and the marriagewas solemnized in accordance with the Roman Catholic Church. Thewitensses were G. Abbate for Italo and J. Ledger for Dot.
At the time of Dot's marriage, Italo has three sons from his firstmarriage: Laura who married Joe Abbatte, Robert who married MargeeKerr at the Caloundra Catholic Church on 20-Dec-1980 and SergioRoberto who married Julie Anne McIntyre at St Joseph's CatholicChurch, Nambour on 25-Sep-1982.
