BELL - At his late residence, Lauriestone, Mann Street, Gosford onSunday, 15 April, James Archibal, the beloved husband of Ethel MayBell, aged 50 years. Best are the Departed.
Other newspaper clippings entitled "Ourimbah News. DEATH OF MR. BELL"and "RETURN THANKS" indicate the following:
. he was aged 50 indicating he was born around 1901;
. he had "a lingering illness extending over the past 12 months" and"who had spent many long sojournas in city hospitals, was a continuoussufferer from kidney trouble";
. he doctor was Dr. Dwyer;
. Mr C McPherson, Mr and Mrs Brindle and Mrs J. Beattie were closefamily friends who helped Ethel at the time of Archie's death.

There was a largeattendance at the graveside, and the floral tributes were many." Themourners included sister-in-law (Mrs Walter Young of Carrington), andniece (Miss M. Young), brother-in-law (Mr C. McPherson) and nephew (MrW. McPherson of Ourimbah).
James is buried in Grave 141, Section 3, Row F, Plot 130.

[369] In a letter written by Walter's mother Ruby, she indicates she now has7 children and the baby, a boy, is "10 days old today". The letter isdated June 4 but she remarks "going to court on Friday 5 June". NowRuby was married in 1921 (NSW BDM ROCKDALE/1921/10839). In those dayscouples often had children at the rate of one every 1-2 years. Hence,7 children may take about 10-11 years. It happens that 5-JUN-1931 is aFriday and there's a good chance the letter was written on Thursday,4-JUN-1931. This means the baby (Walter) was 25-MAY-1931. This is alsoconfirmed by Jessie M. ALLEN's letter of 9-MAR-1934.
