For a long period of the research he was known as William C YOUNG -this name coming from the NSW BDM Indexes. His WW1 dossier from theAustralian Archives revealed his full name to be William Cecil YOUNGand that he was killed in France on the 5-AUG-1916. It's reasonablysafe to assume that Arthur YOUNG's son, Cecil Francis, who was born inthe following year (18-DEC-1917), was named after him and his brotherFrancis. He never married.

The burial was reported by the Rev. A.H. Broughton. Although themilitary records indicate that he was buried at "Military Cemetary,Puchvillers. 7.5 m SW of Doullens" he is buried at Puchevillers whichis 7.5 m SE of Doullens or 19kms NE of Amiens. This is confirmed bythe Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) Internet Site (seegeneral notes).
The CWGC also indicates his grave reference/ panel number is II. C.69. Some historial information from the site follows. In june 1916just before the opening of the Battles of the Somme, the 3rd and 44thCasualty Clearing Stations came to Puchevillers, and Plot I. to IV.,and almost the whole of Plot VI. were made by these hospitals beforethe end of March, 1917. There are nearly 2000, 1914-18 war casualtiescommemorated in this site. The Cemetery covers an area of 3972 squaremetres and is surrounded by a brick wall with a stone coping.
