I don't know a lot about my Davidson line, it appears my pioneer Davidson -'James' may have been married in Scotland and sent his wife to Australia prior to his departure on the "Asia" which departed Cromarty, Scotland on Mon 17/9/1838 and arrived Sydney NSW via Plymouth, England on Fri 10/5/1839, the length of passage was 236 Days. James was sent to Australia by the government, obviously for his stonemasonry skills, his wife must have perished in the new colony as he was remarried in 1850 to my GGGGGrandmother. The Davidson's seemed to live in the Sydney district for a few years, before moving down to the Araluen/Braidwood District, where James was a farmer of Jembaicumbine (near Araluen)
