� He worked as a first church warden at St James in Binda, Georgiana County, New South Wales. 11 Entertaines Bishop Thomas on his first visit to Binda. On this occasion he presented a petition to the Bishop pressing fo rthe appointment of a resident clergyman. He was also the Trustee of the church land in Binda.

Mr Bray was a resident of Goulburn and Berrima districts for many years, was a Justice of the Peace, and was highly respected by all with whom he came in contact. His funeral will take place in Goulburn this evening, the procession reaching Marsden's Bridge at 5 o'clock.

� Other: Funeral, Goulburn Herald, 16 Feb 1881, Goulburn, Argyle County, New South Wales. 12 The friends of the late James W Bray of James' Park, near Crookwell, are respectfully invited to attend his funeral on Thursday next. The procession will arrive at Marsden's Bridge, Goulburn, at 5 pm. Robert Craig, Undertaker.

� Other: Crookwell Death, Goulburn Herald, 19 Feb 1881, Goulburn District, New South Wales. 12 I regret to have to commence my correspondence by having to announce the death of J W Bray Esq, JP, at his residence yesterday morning at 10 AM. The deceased gentleman had but a short illness, as it was only on Tuesday last that he took ill. Dr Morton was immediately summoned, and he and Dr Gentle we in almost daily attendance up to the night before his death. From the first but little hopes were entertained of the deceased's recovery. It is sure that this news will cause universal and genuine regret though the district as the deceased was deservedly respected for his many stirling qualities. The late Mr Bray was in his fifty-ninth year, and I beleive was amongst the first arrivals in this district, having first come here some forty years ago, and his loss will be greatly felt in the district. I think none could be more so.
