OBITUARY:

Mrs. Charlotte Julia Buckingham, 79, resident of Nebraska 66 years, and
of Lincoln about half that time died there at midnight Saturday. Her home was at 5334 Adams.

She came with her parents to Friend in 1878 and was married there in 1886 to David Buckingham . Five years later, they bought land between Dorchester and Friend, owned by her parents, and called it the Buckingham farm. They moved to Dorchester in 1904 and he died seven years later. Mrs.Buckingham went to Lincoln in 1914.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. L. H. Byers, Lincoln; a brother, William E. Baker, Cambridge , Nebraska; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held at 1 PM Tuesday at the First Methodist Church, Rev. Lloyd H. Rising officiating. Burial was in the Andrew Cemetery.

The Buckingham place is now farmed by John Gropp.
