INSOLVENT DEBTOR'S COURT.
TUESDAY, JULY 19th.
Mr. Justice Dowling and two Assessors sat this day to try cases of alleged insolvency, under the provisions of the Act of Council, where the amount of debts exceeds £250.
William Blackman was declared insolvent, having satisfied the Court, on examination, that his losses had accrued on account of an unfortunate speculation in an hotel at Windsor. The insolvent's schedule stated his debts to be £664; to meet which there were available assets to the amount of £230.

• Town Founder: 1838, Mudgee, Wellington County, New South Wales. 8 Mudgee lies beside the Cudgegong River, half way between Lithgow and Dubbo.
Blackman was one of the founding fathers of the township, which was gazetted as the Village of Mudgee in 1838.

• He appeared on the New South Wales census in 1841 in Mudgee, Wellington County, New South Wales. 9 Living in Market Street.

• He owned property in 1842 in Mudgee, Wellington County, New South Wales. William Blackman's house, built in 1842, is on the corner of Court and Short Streets, Mudgee.
