Henry de Percy, 2nd Lord (Baron) Percy; born 6 Feb 1300/1?; granted custody of Alnwick Castle 1318, custodian of Scarborough Castle 1321-24, knighted 1322, Keeper of the coast: Yorks 1324 and Northumberland 1325, Keeper of the Peace Northumberland 1325, sided with Queen Isabella against her husband Edward II's last favourites the Despensers 1326, Keeper of Skipton Castle, chief commissioner to monitor observance of the truce with the Scots and Warden of the Scottish Marches (the last of these till Whitsun that year only) Feb 1326/7, being one of only four English nobles not to be deprived of their Scottish possessions under the peace terms; granted by Edward III Warkworth Castle 1328, Keeper Bamburgh Castle April 1330, overseer of array (local defence) for northern counties July 1330, envoy to negotiate peace with the French Jan 1330/1, Justiciar of Eastern March Feb 1330/1, Warden of the March 1332, present at Siege of Berwick (of which subsequently Keeper) and Edward III's victory over Scots at Halidon Hill July 1333, chief commissioner to Scots Parliament to ensure Edward Balliol honoured his pledge to do homage to Edward III and cede southwest Scotland Oct 1333, member of council of regency during Edward III's absence overseas 1339 and 1340, commanded 3rd division of English victory of Neville's Cross over the Scots 1346, following which David II of Scotland was imprisoned in Bamburgh Castle, commissioner to negotiate final peace with Scots 1350; married Idoine or Idonea de Clifford (died 24 Aug 1365), daughter of 1st Lord (Baron) Clifford, and died late Feb 1351/2. Henry de Percy, 2nd Lord Percy, of Alnwick, had a grant from the crown in the 2nd Edward III of the reversion of the barony and castle of Warkworth, &c. He had summons to parliament from 1322 tothe time of his death, 26 February, 1351-2, when he was s. by his eldest son (by Idonia, dau. of Robert, Lord Clifford), Henry de Percy, 3rd Lord Percy, of Alnwick.
