Bratcher Family Genealogy

This site is for sharing information about the ancestors and descendants of Newman William Bratcher.  Newman was a farmer in Wayne County, Tennessee, and served in the Tennessee Infantry during the Civil War.

Although I have no definite proof, I believe that Newman's parents may have been Elijah Bratcher and Mary Bracher.  The name Charity appears multiple times in both lines (Elijah had a daughter and granddaughter named Charity, as did Newman), and Newman named one of his sons Elijah a few years after the elder Elijah's death.  Additionally, Elijah lived in Wayne County, Tennessee, after Newman's birth, but I don't know exactly where he lived in 1832.  So until I see a census report with Newman living in Elijah's household, I'll refrain from listing them as fathter and son.
