"Woodlawn" Stands near Rhode River on "Shaw's Folly - Francis addition" Lands purchased by William Sellman from John Gresham in 1729. The origional house was built by William Sellman in 1735. A large addition was made by Col. Alfred Sellman in 1845. "Woodlawn" was a Sellman family residence for 6 generations until it was sold by the heirs of richard parran Sellman to Mrs. alexander Howat in 1915. The markings on the chimney in old Flemish bond reads "W A 1735" (i.e William - Ann - 1735) For description of the house, see, H.
