The records include all entries found in the books of record kept by the town clerks, in the church records, in the cemetery inscriptions, and in many private records found in family bibles. At the end of the database, there are two additional groups that may be of interest to those whose family may have lived in Newburyport. These additional parts include a section where the surname was missing (in the surname column, the phrase "Surname Missing" has been included) and a list of African American births that were recorded.
