Henry Wynkoop Raguet, b. 20 Feb. 1796, Bucks Co., Pa., d. 8 Dec. 1877, bur. Greenwood Cemetery, Marshall, Tex., son of James Michael and Ann (Wynkoop) Raguet. He was a planter, Episcopalian, lived near Newtown, Pa., Cincinnati, Ohio, came to Nacogdoches in 1833. He contributed financially to the Texas Revolution, was a friend of Sam Houston, John Durst. Anna, his daughter, was courted by Sam Houston. Henry W. married Marcia Ann ("Mercy") Towers on 25 April 1818, Philadelphia, Pa. She was b. 27 March 1792, Pa., d. 26 Aug. 1879, bur. Greenwood Cem., Marshall, dau. of Robert and Christina (Morton) Towers.

Notes from Richard Wynkoop's 1904 edition of Wynkoop Genealogy in the United States of America:
720. Henry Raguet, (Anne Wynkoop 391, Judge Henry 157, Nicholas 46, Gerret 5, Cornelius 1:) married Marcia A. Towers, and removed to Cincinnati. He removed thence to Texas, before it had achieved its independence.
