RAGUET

    Henry Wynkoop Raguet, b. 20 Feb. 1796, Bucks Co., Pa., d. 8 Dec. 1877, bur. Greenwood Cemetery, Marshall, Tex., son of James Michael and Ann (Wynkoop) Raguet. He was a planter, Episcopalian, lived near Newtown, Pa., Cincinnati, Ohio, came to Nacogdoches in 1833. He contributed financially to the Texas Revolution, was a friend of Sam Houston, John Durst. Anna, his daughter, was courted by Sam Houston. Henry W. married Marcia Ann ("Mercy") Towers on 25 April 1818, Philadelphia, Pa. She was b. 27 March 1792, Pa., d. 26 Aug. 1879, bur. Greenwood Cem., Marshall, dau. of Robert and Christina (Morton) Towers.

4. James Condé Raguet, b. 17 May 1822, Cincinnati, Ohio, d. 4 Dec. 1868 (collision of U.S. and America, Ohio River), mar. Frances Ann Simpson 12 Feb. 1853.
5. Mary H. Raguet, b. ____, Cincinnati, Ohio, did not marry, d. 4 Dec. 1868, with brother on boat.
6. Charles Mansfield Raguet, b. ____, Cincinnati, Ohio, d. 11 Nov. 1903, mar. Isabel (Belle) Edwards.

    Notes from Richard Wynkoop's 1904 edition of Wynkoop Genealogy in the United States of America:

    720. Henry Raguet, (Anne Wynkoop 391, Judge Henry 157, Nicholas 46, Gerret 5, Cornelius 1:) married Marcia A. Towers, and removed to Cincinnati. He removed thence to Texas, before it had achieved its independence.

1214. Augusta Amelia Raguet, who died in the Borough of Manhattan, New York City, December 18, 1902: m. Leonard Mortimer Thorne, of New York City. The compiler first saw the family motto, in an engraving upon a piece of silverware in her possession. As to this motto, see Judge Henry [157].
1215. Henry Raguet: m. Pamie O. Starr; but had no child. His widow married ----- Clapp.
1216. Anna W. Raguet: m. ----- Irion.
1217. Charles Mansfield Raguet: m. Belle Edwards; and had one child.
