ISAAC WYNKOOP, Clay Township.

ISAAC WYNKOOP, Clay Township.

He is a native of Franklin County, Ind.; his parents came to that county in an early day, where his father died. Isaac remained at home until 1849, when he moved to Decatur County, bringing his wife and four children with him. He was married to Miss Barbara Hedtrick, to whom ten children have been born; all are living and married, except the eldest and youngest. Mr. Wynkoop has a farm of about 200 acres under fine improvements and situated seven miles southwest of Greensburg on the V., G. & R. R. R. The town called Wynkoop is located on the southeast corner of his land, the depot grounds, building lots, etc., occupy about twelve acres. Mr. Wynkoop has done as much or more than any man on the line to insure its success. Therefore, he deserves great credit. He and his whole family are members of the Baptist Church, except one, he is a straight-out Republican; all his sons are chips of the old block and all vote. As a family, they are well calculated to make life desirable.

For more information on the town of Wynkoop I would suggest you read the article called Wynkoop, Indiana

This information was sent to me by an anonymous donor that I met through Ebay, the online auction site. This person kindly put up with my questions and generously shared this small slice of Wynkoop Family history with no thought of acknowledgment. I thank them from the bottom of my heart."

    All my best,
