The Recent Brilliant Dash.

LOCAL AFFAIRS.

Point to rightThe recent brilliant dash into Winchester, Tennessee, by the 7th Pennsylvania Cavalry, in which the notorious Rebel, Captain Trimble, was captured, among others, was made by the 1st Battalion of that Regiment commanded by Maj. John E. Wynkoop. The force consisted of two companies from Schuylkill; one from Northumberland county, and one from Harrisburg. Gen. Negley was much pleased with the manner in which this affair was conducted, resulting as it did in the scattering of Storm's rebel cavalry in all directions, and the chasing of them over the country. We are pleased to see the 7th and the gallant Major making their mark so effectively.
