Welcome to...
             Pulaski County

Kentucky
The pictures on this page were sent to me by Margaret Braun. She took them during a trip she took to Somerset, KY in July 2002, this is what she says about her trip... :)
Somerset, KY
I've seen old postcards of this square on the internet.  This is what it looks like today....

The hotel is just a block or 2 down the street from the square.  The whole town isn't very big.  At least, the old town isn't. There's modern stuff spread all over, but we didn't go there....

Beecher Hotel - Somerset, Pulaski County, Kentucky
I have cousins there through my grandmother....  I also have a 1st cousin on my mother's side who lives there.  Her husband is from Somerset but no relation to the Godbey's or Taylor's... at least I don't think. :o))  Anyway, it's a small world for sure!!

You can email Margaret about the families she is researching at maggielou@columbus.rr.com

This is a picture of the Hoosier Schoolhouse on Faubush Creek in 1918 in Pulaski Co, Kentucky, and all the children that were going there at that time. It is now covered by the water of Lake Cumberland .
I have no connections that I know of at this time to any of the families in the picture, and I have no further information.
