MRS. CHARLES SHELTON 94, DIED MARCH 29 Mrs. Sallie Gardner Shelton, 94, died Friday, March 29, 1968. She was at the Katie Jane Memorial Home in Warrenton. She was the daughter of John and Lucy Pearl Gardner. Mrs. Shelton was the youngest and last of the eleven heirs of the John Gardner family, early settlers of Montgomery County. She had lived her entire life in Montgomery county. She became a Christian at the age of 14 and for over 80 years had been a member of the Price's Branch Christian Church. She was married to Charles Emmett Shelton Dec. 14, 1892 and to this union were born nine children. She was preceded in death by her husband and four children. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, March 31 at Price's Branch Christian Church with her Pastor Bro. Hugh R. Ash officiating. Burial was in the Price's Branch Cemetery. |
