Sale Hurt |
This is posted here with the permission of Sandy, she found a collection of old obituaries
in her g,grandmother's scrapbook. Her g,grandmother was Susan Waldridge
Hurt. Most are undated but range from 1910 to 1930's. If anyone has any further

On Staurday morning, February 9th, at 8 o'clock, the Grim Reaper called Death gathered
the spirit of Sale Hurt into his garner. Mr. Hurt had been ill for
about two weeks with typhoid. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lige Hurt and was thirty-five years of age. About sixteen years ago he was married to Miss Adaline Locker. She with five children survive him, as well as his parents and a number of brothers and sisters. He had been a member of the Buckeye Baptist church for a number of years. Funeral services were conducted by the pastor, Rev. J. F. (page folded) of the Methodist church here and his remains were laid to rest (page folded) at two o'clock. NOTE: Buried at Gunn's Chapel, grave unmarked. |
