MRS. TOM DYKE Lucy Gardner, daughter of John and Lucy Gardner, was born December 14, 1867, near Prices Branch Mo, and fell asleep in jesus at her home in St. Louis, MO, April 25, 1937, at the age of 69 years. On November 12, 1890 she was united in marriage to Thomas J. Dyke. To this union was born seven children, six of whom survive. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Edwards and Mrs. Sallie Shelton, nine grandchildren and a number of other relatives and friends. Her husband preceded her in death eighteen years ago. In early life Mrs. Dyke united with the Prices Branch Christian Church where she was a faithful member until death. Another link in so short a time has been severed from this family chain, but what a rich heritage of Christian qualities these links gave to their family which will always be a sweet memory. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord, for their works follow them and they rest from the labor. And now may He comfort the wounded hearts and bring them closer to Him for God doeth all things well. |
