Tony A. Coyle, 63 Tony A. Coyle, 63, of Cortland, Illinois died Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at his home. He was born on August 14, 1939 in Springfield, the son of Robert M. and Florence A. (Isham) Coyle. He married on February 9, 1957 at the First Baptist Church in De Kalb, Illinois. He had been employed by Davey Tree Experts, Anaconda Wire & Cable and at Northern Illinois University in De Kalb in the heating plant where he attained chief engineer position. He was a member of the Road Hawk Car Club, a charter member of the Cortlands Lions Club, retired from the Cortland Fire Department where he was a past president, a former member of the Cortland Town Board and a member of the First Baptist Church in De Kalb. He was active in the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Little League baseball during his children's participation years. He was a respected friend to the friends of Bill W. His other interests were camping, motorcycling, and in later years woodworking, especially scroll work. He is survived by his wife and two sons, of IL; two grandchildren; two sisters one of Huntsville, Alabama and one of Hardin, KY; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Preceding him in death were his parents, five brothers and one sister. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 7, 2003 at Anderson Funeral Home in De Kalb, with Rev. Sandra Graber of Cortland United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Mound Rest Cemetery in Cortland. A memorial is being established for Tony A. Coyle in care of the Anderson Funeral Home, PO Box 605, 2011 South Fourth Street, De Kalb, Illinois 60115. |
