William C. Russell, Sr b. August 03, 1815 d. April 13, 1894 and John C. Russell b.
April 22, 1821 d. November 25, 1896, both lived in this house. During the Civil
War, the family was run out of their home, their furniture and belongings burned
for firewood etc. The Russell house, located in Perryville, KY, was used more than once during the Civil War. First, during the Battle of Perryville (see map below), it was used as the headquarters for the Union soldiers, then later after the battle, it was used as a hospital for the wounded. The battle map says the Russell house was on Old Mackville Pike. William C. Russell, Sr. and Nancy Hatchett b. February 28, 1813 d. March 08, 1905 are my direct line. They were my g,g,g grandparents. There daughter was my great, great grandmother, Marinda Russell b. January 17, 1849 d. April 28, 1935 she married William (Bill) Jackson Reynolds b. January 10, 1848 d. May 23, 1923. John C. Russell b. April 22, 1821 d. November 25, 1896 , was William C. Russell, Sr.'s brother.
