In the name of God Amen The Eight and twentieth day of July Anno domini one thousand six hundred fifty and sixe I William Cooke of Corse in the County of Gloucester yeoman doe make institute and ordaine this my last Will and Testament beinge weake of body but of good and perfect remembrance (thanks be given to god) In manner and forme followinge / First I commend my soule into the hands of Allmighty god my maker, and to Jesus Christ my sole and only redeemer by whose death and passion I verily hope to be saved And my body to be buried in the Churchyeard of Eldersfield in the County of Worcester And as for my worldly goods that the Lord hath lent mee I give and bequeath them as followeth: Whereas part of my Land lyeing in Eldersfield aforesaid stands charged for the summe of Threescore pounds of lawfull money of England with certaine interest in arreare now due and payable unto Thomas Carpenter of Eldersfield aforesaid. And certaine other debts which I owe to severall persons as will or may appeare upon severall bonds, My will and desire is that satisfaction be made thereof by raiseinge it out of my lands and goods by my Executor hereafternamed Item I give unto Anne Cole my sister twenty shillings a yeare dureing her naturall life to be paid in St Thomas day Item I give unto Thomas Cole my sisters sonne Twenty pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid him on St Michaelmas day by forty shillings by the yeare until the said Twenty pounds be satisfied Item I give unto James Cole brother of the said Thomas five pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid him fower yeares after my decease Item I give unto the said James Cole his three Children tenn shillings a peece three yeares after my decease Item I give and bequeath unto Anne Flucke the daughter of William Cooke of Eldersfield lately deceased And to Mary Roberts sister of the said Anne And to Elizabeth Cooke Martha Cooke and Hannah Cooke sisters of the said Anne and Mary the summes of tenn pounds a peece of lawfull money of England to be paid in manner and forme followinge (that is to say) To Elizabeth tenn pounds five yeares after my decease To Martha tenn pounds within six yeares after my decease And to Hannah tenn pounds within seaven yeares after my decease And to the said Anne Fluck tenn pounds within eight yeares after my decease And o the said Mary Roberts tenn pounds within nine yeares after my decease Item I give unto John Pylmore of Eldersfield aforesaid Three pounds of lawfull money of England Item I give unto Joane Pilmore and Margery Pilmore sisters of the said John the summe of twenty shillings a peece The which summes of three pounds and twenty shillings a peece to be paid within three yeares after my decease Item I give unto Anne Johns wife of Thomas Johns of Chatestry one paire of flaxen sheets marked with her owne name Alsoe I give unto Willim Johns my godsonne the summe of Forty shillings to be paid when he accomplish the age of Fifteene yeares Item I give unto Richard Cooke my godsonne Forty shillings to be paid when he shall accomplish the age of Twenty one yeares And I give unto Chascle[?] Stock my godsonne twenty shillings to be paid when he accomplish the age of one and twenty yeares Item I give unto Anne Tylsley my god daughter tenn shillings to be paid when shee accomplish the age of Fifteene yeares Alsoe I give devise and bequeath all my Messuages and Tenements Lands and hereditaments houses edifices buildings with thappurtenances thereunto belonging or in anie wise appertainninge which are situate lyinge and beinge within the parish of Corse in the County of Gloucester and in Eldersfield in the County of Worcester or els where wherein I have or may have any claime or interest whatsoever and which are now in my possession or my assignes unto Florice Cooke of Eldersfield in the County of Worcester yeoman my loveinge kinsman and to his heires forever whom I make executor of this my last will and Testament And my will is that if anie of the Legators dye before their tyme come to receive their legacies as in this my will is expressed my Executor shall receive the benefits thereof. Allsoe I give unto the poore of Corse twenty shillings And unto the poore of Eldersfield aforesaid twenty shillings to be paid within one moneth after my decease, And as for the rest of my goods Cattells and Chattles Bills bonds writeings of what sort soever they are and wheresoever they lye I give and bequeath them freely unto the said Florice Cooke the better to discharge the beforemenconed debts and legacies and whom I make my sole executor of this my last will and Testament And I utterlie revoke and disanull all former will that I have made And I desire Thomas Browne of Corse gent and Richard Cole Vicar of Eldersfield aforesaid to be Overseers of this my last will and Testament And I doe give them for their paines five shillings six pence a peece And for proof that this is my last will and Testament I have hereunto the day and yeare first above written sett unto my hand and seale marke of William Cooke Witnes the marke of Tho: Hyes the marke of Richard Carpenter Ri: Cole script
