I Thomas Halsey of Over in The County of Gloucr gent being weake in body but blessed be God of perfect mind and memory doe make this my last will and Testament in manner following and first and principally I committ my soule into the hands of my maker hopeing to be saved by the alone merritts of the Lord Jesus Christ And my body I committ to the earth to be decently buryed at Eldersfield in the Countie of Worcr neare to my wife there And as for my Temporall estate I dispose thereof as followeth And first I give to my son James Halsey and to his heires and assignes forever all that my messuage Lands Tenements and hereditaments whatsoever situate and lying in or neare Eldersfield aforesaid and Course in the saide County of Gloucr he or they paying and discharging all and singular the monyes now due by vertue of a mortgage by me made thereof Alsoe I give to my said sonn two silver spoones a silver Tobaccoe box and my best bed and bedsted curtaines and vallance and a bolster and a paire of pillowes and Two paire of sheetes and Two blanketts and a coverlid alsoe I give and bequeath to my Daughter Sarah Halsey one hundred and fifty pounds in money and my silver tann and Two silver spoones alsoe O give and bequeath to my Daughter Elizabeth Hyett widdow Ten pounds in money and Two silver spoones alsoe I give and bequeath to my Grandson James Hyett fifty pounds to be paid into my said Daughter Elizabeth his mother within five yeares next after my decease id she shalbe then unmarried but in case of her then marriage to be paid into such person or persons for the use and advantage of my said Grandsonn as my said Executors or the major part of them shall thinke fit alsoe I give to my Grand Daughter Elizabeth Hyett five pounds also I give to my said Grandson and two silver spoones all the rest of my goods chattells and personall estate whatsoever I give and bequeath to my said sonn James and to my said daughters Elizabeth and Sarah whome I make sole Executors of this my last will and Testament to be equally devided betwixt them butt my will is that my debts and funerall expences be first discharged out of the same and I doe desire and appointe my wellbeloved friends Edward Cooke the younger Esqr and William Hayward of Quedgly in the said County of Gloucr gent to be overseers of this my last will and Testament whose assistance I desire in the due execution of this my will Witnesse my hand and seale the fifth day of August Anno Domini 1679 Tho: Halsey Signed sealed published and declared in the presence of Mary Yeates Tho: Cleevely Thomas Pearce
