Thomas Franckombe thelder of Tyrley, husbandman

 

In the name of God Amen the xvth day of September in the yeare of or Redeemer 1621. I Thomas Franckombe thelder of Tyrley in the County of Gloucr husbandman being sick in body but of good and prfect remembrance (thankes be unto God) do ordaine and make this my last will and testament in manner and forme following. First I comend my soule into the handes of Almighty God, and my body to be buried in the Churchyard of Tyrley aforesd believing a ioyfull resurrection thereof through the mercie of God and merites of Jesus Christ. Concerning such goodes as God hath lent me my will is as followeth. Inprimis I give and bequeath unto Nathanaeell Symonds my son in law Fowre poundes. Item to Nathanaeell Symonds my grandchild I give and bequeath the bedsted whereon I lie, and the presse in the same Chamber, a pewter platter, a Candlestick, a payre of sheetes, the second brasse pot and a two yeare old Colt: Item I give and bequeath unto Thomas Symonds my grandchild Seaven pounds of lawfull english money a pewter platter, a Candlestick, a payre of sheetes, one great Coffer standing in the Chamber where I lie, the biggest brasse pott, and the mawlt mill that is at the ----. Item I give and bequeath my wearing apparel to these my Two grandchildren to make them clothes. Item I give and bequeath unto  Alice Symonds my grandchild Seaven poundes of lawfull english money, a pewter platter, a Candlestick a payre of sheetes, a flockbed & bolster whereon the said Children now lie, and the second brasse pan. Item I give and bequeath unto Elianor Symonds my grandchild Seaven pounds of lawfull english money a pewter platter a Candlestick a payre of flaxen sheetes, the best brasse pan and a payre of wafer yrons. Item my will is that the money thus bequeathed unto these Three my grandchildren should be paid them when they attaine the age of Sixteen yeares, And the household stuf thus given amongest them all my will is should be delivered unto ech of them presently after the death of Edith Franckombe my wife. But if yt happen that any of them do dy before these tymes I fixed; then my will is that the parte of him or hir so dying shalbe equally divided betweene the survivors / And of this my will I make and ordeyne the aforenamed Edith my wife executrix ioyntly wth Nathaneell Symonds my sonne in lawe beforenamed, and I will that the money which is in his hand remaine only in his hand, till yt be payable to the children aforenamed. And of the execucon of this my will I entreat my good frends John Clarke and Robert Symonds to be overseers, and do herby revoke and disanull all other former wiles legacies bequests executors and overseers by me before this tyme made named willes and bequeathed.
