In the name of God Amen the sixth day of February one thousand six hundred sixty and six I Thomas Carpenter of Dunshill in the parish of Eldersfield alias Elsfield in the County of Worcester yeoman, being very weak and sickley in body but of good and perfect memory (Blessed be God) Doe hereby make and Declare this my last will and Testament. First I freely give and assigne my soule into the hands of Allmighty God my maker and Creator Trusting through the alone merrits and rightiousnes of Jesus Christ my only saviour and Redeemer to Obtayne Eternall life and happinesse. And my body I committ to the Earth from whence it was taken. And as for that worldly Estate the Lord hath lent mee I dispose thereof as followeth, Imprimis I give devise and bequeath That Land which I purchased of John Bennett of Tyrley which said land lyeth in Tyrley aforesaid in the County of Glouc to my sonne Thomas and his heyres for ever All the rest of my personall Estate whatsoever I give and bequeath to my Two daughters to raise them porcons and to be equally devided betwixt them and to be paid them when they shall accomplish the age of one and Twentie yeares or at the day of marriage with this Provisioe That my Executors or any Two of them shall approve thereof But my will and my meaning is That my wife shall have the use of such household necerssaries as my Executors or any two of them shall thinke Requisit during the terme of her naturall life and if either of my Daughters Dye before the come to the age as is before expressed then the parte of the deceased to remaine and Inore[?] to the Survivor and in case of the death of Both then to remaine to my sonne Thomas and in case of the death of all Three to Joane my Wife And I doe hereby appoint and ordaine my Uncle Edmund Greeneaway of the parish of the Ligh eventon William Stocke of Chasely and Florice Cooke of Eldersfield to be my Executors To Whome I committ the sole managing of my estate according to the true intent & meaning of this my will giving to each of them two shillings six A peece Besides allowing to my said Executors all Charges and expenses occasioned by reason of the trust I have in them reposed. And I doe hereby intreate my brother my brother Joseph Colchester and my kinsman Thomas Tovey to be overseers hereof and to be assisting as neede require to whome I give two shillings six A peece for any paines they shall bee at In witnesse whereof I have putt to my hand and seale the day and yeare first above written Tho Carpenter his marke Signed sealed and Declared to be the last will of the Testator in the presence of Floris Cowp Willia: Roberts his marke Edmund Surmon
