Thomas Blissard the elder of Laverton, yeoman

 

In the name of God Amen I Thomas Blissard the elder of Laverton in the Countie of Gloucester yeoman being sicke in Bodie but of good and perfect memorie praized be God Doe make and ordaine this my last will and Testament in manner and forme followeing hereby revoking and adnulling all former Wills heretofore be mee made and declared First I give and bequeathe my Soule into the hands of Allmightie God my maker hopeinge for  Salvacon in and by the merits of Jesus Christ my Saviour & Redeemer And my bodie to be buried according to the Discretion of my Executor hereafter named And as for the worldly substance wherewith it hath pleased God to blesse me I dispose of in manner and forme followeing First I give and bequeathe unto Stephen Blissard my sonne tenne of my best Ewes to be delivered to him by my Executor named within one Monthe next after my decease Alsoe I give unto Elizabeth my sonn Stephens wife the sume of five pounds of lawfull money of England to buy her a Gowne and to be paied unto her within the space of one yeare next after my decease Alsoe I give and bequeathe unto my daughter Elizabeth Bagge the sume of five shillings to be paied unto her within one yeare next after my decease Also I give unto my Grandchild John Bagg the halfeyard Land sittuate in Cow-honiborne in the County of Gloucester now in the tenure or Occupacon of the said Elizabeth Bagg her Assignee or Assignes Farmors or Undertennants And alsoe I give unto the said John Bagg all other my Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments scittuate in Cowhoniborne aforesaid To have and to hold the same unto my said sonne John Bagg and his Assignes imediatly from and after my decease  for and during all the Tearme and time I have therein Also I give unto my Grandchild Mary Bagg the sume of tenne pounds of like lawfull money of England to be paied unto her within the space of one yeare next after my decease Also I give unto my daughter Hanna Dowdeswell the sume of five shillings to buy her a pare of gloves to be paied within the space of one yeare next after my decease Alsoe I give unto every of my Grandchildren John Thomas and Samuell Dowdeswell one sheepe to be delivered unto them within the space of one Monthe next after my decease All the Rest and residue of my Goods Chattles house-hold stuffe moveable and unmoveable my Debts and Legacies being first paied and my funerall expences discharged I give and bequeathe unto Thomas Blissard and Samuell Blissard my Sonns whome I make & ordaine Executors of this my last will and Testament And I doe make and ordaine John Symonds of Laverton aforesaid husbandman and my said sonn Stephen Overseers of this my last will and Testament to see the same performed And if any Difference shall att any time hereafter happen or arize betweene my said Executors and Legatees hereby named or any of them about or concerning this my last will or any Legacies hereby given them my will is that my said Overseers shall heare end and determine the same differences And further my will and meaning is that if my said Executors & Legatees hereby named or any or either of them shall refuse to stand to such end Determinacon as my said Overseers shall make about and concerning the same Differences that the hee or shee or they soe refuseing shall have no benefit by this my last Will And then the Legacie and guift hereby given to any such as shall refuse to stand to such end and Determinacon of the John Symonds and Stephen Blissard as aforesaid shall cease and determine and shall be given and distributed amongst such of my Legatees as shall and doe stand to such end and Determination as aforesaid In Witnesse whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and Seale this sixteenth Day of Marche Anno dni / 1652.
