In the name of god amen the 24 of December in the yere of our lord 1565 and yt I Ryc But of Bishopps Norton in the countye of the cytye of Gloc husbandman syck in bodye but of prfect mynd & memory do mack my testament and last wyll in form & manr folowyng first I comyt & yeld my sowll into the hands of almyghtye god my maker & redemr and my bodye to the erth to be buried in the Churche yard of Nortone beforsaid: As touching the distrybucion of my worldly goods first I geve to the mother churche iiijd Item I geve to Edmond my sonne my nag sadles and all my best apprell Itm I geve to John Wyllym and Robart my sonnes xij fyld shepp to be devided among them by equall porcyons Itm I geve to evry on of my iij daughters one payer of shets & on yow Itm I geve to my sonne Wyllym one table bord wch was my mothers gyft to me and also one pewter platter Itm I geve to Rychard my brother Wyllym sonne in money xijd Itm I geve to my sonne Edmond two of my best fyld shepp which legacies of this my will is to be delyvered to his master Robart Etherydge and he to have the usse of them as of hym it shalbe thought most profytable for the sayd Edmond furthermore my wyll is that all the sayed legacies shall in contynent be delivered to the profet of the children as it shalbe seane most nesessarye to the ovrsears and also if it shall pleasse god to tack any of them out of this world before theyr dais of maryagee or yeres of age to macke theyr wyll & testament yt then his or theyr part or parts to remain equally to the rest being lyvyng all the rest of my goods being un bequeathed I geve to Joan my wyff whom I macke myne whole executrix of all my goods moveable and unmoveable my death legacies being payed and also the ovrsears of the exexucyon hereof I wyll and desyer Edmund Smyth and my brother Wyllym But desyring them for gods sack to be and --- & ---- to my poore wiff & children wth theyr admonishion & cownsall
