John Hampton of Apperley in the parish of Derehurst

 

In the name of God Amen The Twentie fifth daie of June one Thousand Sex Hundred and Fiftie Eight I John Hampton of Apperley in the parish of Derehurst in ye Countie of Gloucr sick in body but of good and perfect memorie, Laud and praise be given unto Allmightie God doe make and oredene this my last will and testament in manner and forme as following: That is to saie First O comment my Soule into the Hans of God my maker hopeing assuredlie through the Sufferings of Jesus Christ my Saviour to be made partaker of Life everlasting And I commend my bodie to the earth whereof it was made And Item I give unto my daughter Elizabeth five shillings To be paid wth in one yere after my decease.  Item I give unto my daughter Joane my best bed saveing two with two hempen Sheets with two blankets one of the best white blankets and one red blanket presentlie after my decease And my will is That my sonne Thomas shall have the goodes which are in the Roomes now in the possessyn of John Halling Except for the bed Provided he shall paie unto his Brother Edmund fowre pounds for the same at Christmas next after my decease.  And I doe appoint my daughter Margaret and my Sonne Edmund whole Executors to this my last will and testamt And further I doe appoint ,y wellbeloved freinds in Christ William Minchin and Thomas Hampton my Sonne to be Overseers to see this my last will & testament executed And In witness whereof I the said John Hampton have to this my last will and testament put my Hand and Seale The daie and yere first above written John Hampton his marke Witnesses William Minchin his marke Joan Minchin her marke William Flucke
