John Eagles of Dierhurst, husbandman

 

In The name of god Amen / Upon the nin and Twentith day of June in the yeare of our Lord god 1623 I John Egels of the parish of Dierhurst and Count of Gloucr husbandman, Beinge sicke in Bodye But whole in minde. praysd be the Almighty god / doe macke my last will & Testament the day & yeare aforesaid in manner and forme folowinge / vidt.

 

Inprimis I doe Comend & Bequeth my Soule unto the Allmightie God my Creatour hopinge to be saved by the merits of Jesus Christ my Sole Redemer and Soule Savioure[?] / and in that faith wch wee doe Call Catholick I ---- -- so I hope to finish my dayes / and my body to be buryed wthin Christian Buriall / And as for my Temporall goods I doe Bequeth as foloweth

 

Item I doe give & Bequeth unto my wife Joan Eagles my Coppy hould / wherin I doe now Live in / and all thinge and things thereunto Belonginge Acordinge to the Custom of the place/

 

Item I doe Give &and Bequeth unto the aforsayd Joan my wife all my Goods Chattell & Cattells whatsoever is mine duringe her widowehood and if she happen to mary or dye then unto my Sonne John Egles /

 

Item I doe give & bequeth unto my Toe Grainde Children Grace & Elinore / daughters unto my sonne John Egles Ten pounds Apece / to be payd unto them by mine Executrix when they Come to the Adge of Sextine years / and if it happen that either of them do dye / before they Come unto the years aforsayd then that ten pounds to be and to Remayn unto that other Sister that liveth /

 

Mrd one halfe of the whitt pesson in my Sonne John Egles and lickwis of whet halfe / and for any fattches[?] out of five Bushelles I Bequeth unto my Sonne John three Bushells and to my wife Toe appese Throughout

 

Item I doe macke my wife Joan Egles full and sole executrix of all my Goods bothe movabell & unmovabell whatsoever / and fully and wholly do determine all things theirunto belonginge / accordinge to the Custom of Executorship

 

In wittnes herof I have hereunto subscribed my hand the day and year above written
