In the name of god Amen The xxth day of June in the yere of or Lord god 1548 / and in the yere of the reigne of or Sovereigne Lord Edward the vjth by the grace of god kyng of England France and Ireland defender of the faythe / and in earthe of the churche of England and Ireland supreme head / I John Cooke of Plaistow in the parishe of Derehurst in the Countie of Gloucr being in healthe and of pfct memorie doe make this my laste will and testament in mannr and forme followyng / First I bequeathe my sowle to allmightie god and my bodie to be buried in the churchyard of Derehurst / Item I doe gyve and bequeathe unto Laurence Cooke my son an oxe whose name is called Suell[?] and iij heyfers now beyng in calfe the bay colte of the black mane and the greye mare’s colt a masshynge panne the best coverynge of my bedd to have it after my deceasse a ploughe / ij harroes / the yoke and towes / a donge wayne / and all my rayment / and my saddell / an axe / my hatchet / and an ----[?] / Item I gyve unto Pernell my daughter iij heyffers and a cowe which is called rose and the long legged potte of iij gallons / Ite to the said Pernell ij sheepe Item I gyve unto her childe an of the beste weynyng calfes / an yewe / and a lambe / and a corne wayne / and if she be wt child I doe gyve to that child of Laurence Cooke a weynyng calfe Item i gyve unto Richard Simonds ij sonnes an yewe and a lambe Item I gyve unto Thomas Sutton an yewe and to Alice his sister a lambe Item I bequeathe unto Robert Shild an yewe and a lambe Item I gyve unto Laurence my sonne ij shore[?] hoggs / and ij of te best lambes / Item i will that my best oxe shall be for an heriot unto Mr Thomas Throckmorton for my house that my son Laurence dwellethe in Iem i gyve unto Pernell my daughter half a pece of wolley clothe of viij yards / when it is ---- [?] made Item I will that if Agnes my wife will put forthe Laurence my sonne from his house that he dwelleth in / then he to have half the goods withe in the house / and without the house moveable and unmoveable / and if noe / then the rest of all my goods I wholy bequeath to Agnes my wife whome I doe constitute and make sole executrix dated the day and yere above said / witnesseth Richard Flook / Robert Sutton and William Dewye[?]
